On the first leg, we were truly overwhelmed by the strong participation and the positive feedback we received after the run.

Many running enthusiasts reached out, eager to join. However, with the deadline in place, we had to stay committed to the process and proceed as scheduled, while continuing to uphold our goal of sustainability.

Now, as we welcome even more runners and approach the closing (May 5 pa😘), the excitement continues to grow.

This run is not just about promoting health and wellness; it is also about reconnecting with people and the environment, celebrating Socorro’s rich legacy and culture, and affirming our shared commitment to move forward with hope. Above all, it reflects the enduring spirit of “Pagtinabangay”—the unity and cooperation that the Socorronhon people uphold through challenges, victories, and every moment in between.

In light of the matter currently circulating in the news today, the Local Chief Executive (LCE) has signed Executive Order No. 28, adopting and institutionalizing local measures for the strict implementation of Republic Act No. 9995.

In line with this, the Municipal Government of Socorro encourages everyone to uphold and respect the privacy, dignity, and personal rights of every individual, and to practice responsible use of social media and digital platforms at all times.

Further, please be informed that the Municipal Tourism Office has ensured the proper coordination and implementation of the necessary measures in relation thereto.

In anticipation of the influx of tourists visiting the renowned Sohoton Cove and other key destinations in Bucas Grande Island, the Tourism Personnel, PNP, Tourist Police, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Rural Health Unit (RHU), and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Socorro have been on duty from Monday to Thursday, this Holy Week.

Duty monitoring operations will continue until Sunday and throughout the summer season to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all residents and visitors. Personnel are strategically deployed in major tourism areas, ports, and transport points to provide assistance and maintain orderly travel.

LGU Socorro welcomes everyone and encourages tourists to enjoy a safe, peaceful, and meaningful Holy Week, while exploring the natural wonders of Sohoton Cove and Bucas Grande Island. 🙏🏝️🚤👮‍♂️
