Recognizing the growing need to address the mental, emotional, and social challenges faced by today's youth, the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Malalam-Malacabibi successfully conducted ๐ฃ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฃ๐ช๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ: ๐ ๐๐น๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐น๐ถ, ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐ฝ๐๐ฎ on June 20, 2026, bringing together young people for a day of learning, awareness, and empowerment.
The program highlighted critical and timely topics affecting the youth sector, particularly Mental Health Awareness and Wellness and Peacebuilding, Community Security, and Safety. Through informative discussions and meaningful conversations, participants gained valuable insights on managing personal well-being, building healthy relationships, fostering respect and inclusivity, and becoming active partners in maintaining a peaceful and secure community.
In an age where many young people silently struggle with stress, anxiety, peer pressure, and the influence of social media, the discussion on mental health served as a timely reminder that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Equally significant was the session on peacebuilding and community security, which emphasized that a safe community is built through shared responsibility, mutual respect, and active youth participation.
The activity was made possible through the expertise and dedication of our resource speakers from the Solana Mental Health Helpline, led by Mrs. Kenneth Cristobal, together with her colleagues, who shared practical knowledge on mental wellness, self-care, and emotional resilience. Likewise, sincere appreciation is extended to PLT. Remedios Malazzab of the Solana Police Station for her informative discussion on peacebuilding, community security, and youth safety.
The Sangguniang Kabataan also expresses its gratitude to Mr. Henry Labang, who voluntarily served as the Master of Ceremony and once again demonstrated his unwavering support and commitment to youth development initiatives within the barangay.
More than a seminar, Project KAPWA served as a reminder that creating positive change begins with the individual. By taking care of our mental well-being, respecting others, and contributing to peace and safety in our communities, we embody the true essence of kapwaโa shared responsibility for one another.
Healthy minds build stronger youth. Safe communities create brighter futures.
