โPAGPAPAHAYAG NG BUONG SUPORTA SA MASS IMMUNIZATION AT VACCINATION PARA SA MAS MATATAG NA KALUSUGAN AT MAS MALAKAS NA RESISTENSYA NG BAWAT SOLANOANโ
Mr. Presiding Officer, my fellow members of the Sangguniang Bayan, our municipal officials, health workers, and our constituentsโgood morning.
I rise today to express my full support for our mass immunization and vaccination campaign, particularly the efforts of our Municipal Health Office and the Department of Health.
As a healthcare professional and an advocate of public health, I believe that vaccination is one of the simplest and most effective ways of protecting our people from serious diseases that can be prevented.
Diseases such as measles, polio, pertussis, diphtheria, tetanus and hepatitis B can cause serious illness and even death. But many of these diseases can be prevented through proper and timely vaccination.
The World Health Organization estimates that immunization prevents around 3.5 to 5 million deaths every yearworldwide.
Here in the Philippines, we still have work to do. Based on 2024 data cited by DOH, WHO and UNICEF, only about 61% of eligible children were considered fully immunized, while more than 933,000 children had yet to complete their recommended vaccines.
These numbers remind us that vaccination should not only be a health programโit should be a community effort.
This is why I commend our Municipal Health Office, our health workers, and the Department of Health for bringing vaccination services closer to our people and continuing their information campaigns in our barangays.
But while our health workers are doing their part, we also face another challenge: misinformation and fake news.
Today, information spreads very quickly through Facebook and other social media platforms. Unfortunately, not everything we read or watch online is true.
Some posts make alarming claims about vaccines without proper scientific evidence. Others share personal experiences and present them as if they apply to everyone.
I am not saying that people should not ask questions. People have the right to ask questions about their health.
But before we believe or share something, we must verify it.
If we have questions about vaccines, let us ask our doctors, nurses, and other licensed healthcare professionals. Let us consult our Municipal Health Office rather than relying on unverified social media posts.
Hindi masama ang magtanong. Ang mali ay ang basta-basta maniwala at mag-share ng impormasyon na hindi natin alam kung totoo.
Vaccines are not a guarantee that a person will never get sick. But they help the body's immune system prepare to fight specific diseases and greatly reduce the risk of serious illness from many vaccine-preventable diseases.
That is why I strongly encourage our constituents to take advantage of the vaccination services being provided by our government.
And I would also like to recognize the efforts of our Chief Executive in promoting a healthier Solano. I fully support this administration's goal of building a community where prevention and health education are given the importance they deserve.
As a member of this Sangguniang Bayan, I am also proud that we have already passed an ordinance supporting mass immunization in our municipality.
With this, I respectfully appeal to our Honorable Municipal Mayor for the full implementation of this ordinance, so that we can strengthen our vaccination program and expand our information and education campaign.
Let us bring the message not only to the municipal center but to every barangay, every family, and every parent who needs proper information.
Let us make it easier for our people to ask questions, consult health professionals, and receive the right information.
Because sometimes, people do not refuse vaccination because they do not care about their health or their children.
Sometimes, they are simply afraid because they have heard the wrong information.
Our job as public servants is to replace that fear with proper information and responsible guidance.

Let us support our health workers. Let us support the vaccination programs of the DOH and our Municipal Health Office. And let us support our Chief Executive in his goal of building a healthier Solano.
As a healthcare professional and as a public servant, I will continue to support programs that protect the health of our people.
Because a healthy Solano is a stronger Solano.
