Celebrating the Culmination of Institutional VCS 2026 at Barangay Aurora!

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Glory to God! The Institutional Vacation Church School (VCS) 2026 at Barangay Aurora, Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya, has drawn to a beautiful, spirit-filled, and victorious close. Following a powerful opening, Days 2 and 3 served as a fruitful season of growth, laughter, and deep spiritual discovery for the 40 young precious souls of the community.

Nurturing Talents and Planting the Word Throughout the multi-day encounter, the children continued to hone their creative skills through engaging art workshops, including coloring, drawing, and crafts. Guided by the dedicated ACCESS Unit student-teachers and the UMC manual, the kids spent their days mastering everyday memory verses and interactive lessons, embedding the profound truth of what it truly means to be a cherished member of 'God’s Family.

A Vibrant Culmination and Recognition Day
The final day overflowed with high energy and joy! Before the main program commenced, the children absorbed one last impactful lesson and participated in interactive games that challenged their memory and listening skills—earning them exciting, well-deserved rewards from their facilitators.

The culmination program highlighted the children's hard work, as each category stepped into the spotlight to perform a special song-and-dance number that they had passionately practiced. The atmosphere was filled with beaming smiles as the pupils proudly stepped up to receive their Certificates of Completion and special tokens, followed by a sumptuous fellowship snack.

Honoring Partnerships and Dedication Institutional service is a collaborative journey. To honor the hands that made this mission possible, ACCESS Director formally recognized the 25 Student Facilitators , 2 Alumni Employees, and 8 Coordinators from different departments with certificates for their substantial involvement and servant leadership.

The ACCESS Director also extended the institution's deepest gratitude to the Local Government Unit of Barangay Aurora. On behalf of Aldersgate College, a Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to the Barangay Council for their unwavering hospitality, security, and solid support extended to the ACCESS team throughout the duration of the activity.

A Heartfelt Sending-Forth
The program concluded beautifully with a solemn closing prayer and a touching surprise—a special thank-you video prepared by the pupils themselves, expressing their love and gratitude to Aldersgate College.

The ACCESS Team remains profoundly grateful to the Aldersgate College, Inc. (ACI) Administration, most especially to our College President, for the opportunity to conduct this community extension and for generously providing all the necessary resources to bring this mission to life.

The VCS doors may have closed, but the seeds of faith, love, and community planted in Barangay Aurora will continue to bloom for generations to come!

WE ARE GOD’S FAMILY: Launching the Institutional VCS 2026 at Barangay Aurora

"We come to you today not just as teachers and students, but as members of a larger family."

Aldersgate College, Inc., through the ACCESS (Community Extension and Social Services) Unit, officially opened its Institutional Vacation Church School (VCS) 2026 in the welcoming community of Barangay Aurora, Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya. Guided by the profound theme, “We Are God’s Family,” the multi-day mission formally set its roots to nurture faith, fellowship, and love among the local youth.

An Anchored Start in Prayer
Before setting out for the mission field, the entire delegation gathered on the college campus with a shared spirit of devotion. The School Chaplain, Rev. Arvie P. Estabillo, MDiv, MACE led the group in a powerful sending-forth prayer, lifting up the team for safe travels, successful implementation of the modules, and continuous spiritual blessings and strength for all the facilitators as they step into their roles.

A Community Welcomed in Faith
Upon arriving at the destination, the institutional extension activity commenced with an inspiring opening program, bringing together community leaders, families, and eager young learners. The gathering was formally opened with a warm welcome address from Hon. Hector Sobrepeña, who gracefully represented the Barangay Captain and expressed the community's joy and support for this holistic partnership.

A Purpose-Driven Mission
Following the local leadership's greeting, Prosperita Marites A. Matterig, ACCESS Director, delivered a powerful message detailing the heart and purpose of the mission. She passionately emphasized to the parents and children that “We Are God’s Family” is far more than an annual theme—it is a live mission.

Director Matterig shared that the school’s core objectives are three-fold: to share the transformative love of Christ, to learn together through interactive experiences, and to build a stronger, tightly-knit community. She expressed her deep hope that throughout this journey, every child present would truly feel a profound sense of belonging to a spiritual family that cares for them deeply.

Diverse Classrooms & Dedicated Facilitators
The institutional initiative successfully drew a wonderful group of 35 young participants, thoughtfully divided into developmental categories to ensure personalized mentoring:

👶 12 Nursery Learners (exploring faith through sensory play and songs)

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 10 Younger Elementary Students (building foundational Bible insights)

🙋‍♂️ 13 Older Elementary Students (deepening character and leadership values)

To guide these energetic groups, the ACCESS Director proudly presented the dedicated deployment team consisting of 15 Student Facilitators and 2 Alumni Employees representing various academic departments. These well-trained volunteers have dedicated their time to serve as mentors, role models, and instruments of God's compassion on the ground.

By bridging academic support with institutional community extension, Aldersgate College continues to extend its hands beyond classroom walls—nurturing the next generation and walking together as one family under God.

Thank you, Barangay Aurora, for opening your hearts and homes to this divine mission!

WE ARE GOD’S FAMILY: Equipping Facilitators for VCS 2026

"We are gathered today not just to prepare for an activity, but to take part in a mission."

Aldersgate College, Inc., through the ACCESS (AC Community Extension and Social Services) Unit, successfully conducted the Preparatory Seminar-Workshop for our upcoming Vacation Church School (VCS).

The morning session opened with a heartfelt welcome from our ACCESS Director, Prosperita Marites A. Matterig. In her remarks, she emphasized that this year’s theme, “We Are God’s Family,” serves as a reminder that VCS is more than teaching—it is about building relationships, nurturing faith, and creating a sense of belonging in our partner communities.

“To our trainees, you are instruments of God’s love,” Director Matterig shared. “As you go to your partner communities, you carry with you the responsibility to inspire, to guide, and to show compassion—just as Christ has taught us.”

Expert Guidance & Specialized Training The whole-day activity ensured that our coordinators and student-teachers are fully equipped for the field:
Unified Plenary (Morning): Participants gathered as one to align their spirits and hearts for the mission.
Break-out Sessions (Afternoon): Intensive workshops were conducted for each of the four (4) specialized lesson categories.

We were honored to have resource speakers who are proud graduates of our Bachelor of Science in Church Management (ABCM) program. The entire activity was spearheaded by our Tertiary Guidance Designate, DSS Jenny Jane Corpuz who is also one of the lead authors of the VCS modules, providing our facilitators with direct, expert insights into the curriculum.
As our facilitators prepare to depart for their respective partner communities, we move forward as one family—sharing love, faith, and hope.

Stay tuned as we begin this journey together!
