The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Sorsogon City Operations Office successfully conducted an orientation on DILG Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 2026-021 and MC No. 2026-037 for the Punong Barangays, Barangay Secretaries, and Barangay Treasurers on August 6, 2026.

The orientation focused on the policy guidelines for ensuring a smooth governance transition through the proper conduct of the physical inventory, verification, and documentation of all Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) properties prior to the assumption of office by the newly-elected or incoming Barangay and SK Officials. These measures aim to promote accountability, transparency, and the orderly transfer of responsibilities.

The activity was led by City Local Government Operations Officer, Cheryss O. Flestado together with the City Assessment and Transition Team headed by Atty. Christine Meralpes, Chairperson, Ms. Nancy Caballero, Vice Chairperson, and the rest of the team members who discussed the procedures and responsibilities necessary to ensure a systematic and accountable turnover of all Barangay and SK properties.

The DILG Sorsogon City Operations Office also recognized the Barangay Secretaries who demonstrated exemplary commitment, dedication, and valuable contributions to the updated and timely submission of required reports on the barangay's compliance to the DILG programs and activities.

Nagsagawa ng on-site monitoring ang Kagawaran ng Interyor at Lokal na Pamahalaan Rehiyon Singko, sa pamamagitan ng Dibisyon ng Pagpapaunlad ng Kakayahan ng Lokal na Pamahalaan, para sa programang KADIWA ng Pangulo (KNP) sa Bulwagang Panglungsod ng Sorsogon noong Hulyo 31, 2026.

Ang Panrehiyong Pangkat Tagasubaybay ay binubuo nina LGOO IV Juniecel M. Fajardo at LGOO II Jaspher E. Cariño, kasama ang Pangunahing Taga-ugnay mula sa DILG Sorsogon, LGOO II Johanna Faye Lopez na layuning suriin ang progreso ng programa.

Sa nasabing pagbisita, nakipag-ugnayan ang pangkat kay Acting CGADH I, Atty. Divine Grace D. Diesta ng Tanggapan ng Panlungsod na Agrikultor upang obserbahan ang lokal na operasyon at talakayin ang patuloy na suporta para rito.

Bilang bahagi ng kanilang mga tungkulin at responsibilidad, patuloy na sumusuporta ang Kagawaran ng Interyor at Lokal na Pamahalaan Rehiyon Singko sa pagpapatupad ng mga inisyatibo ng KNP ng mga LGU sa buong rehiyon.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Sorsogon City Operations Office attended the Liga ng mga Barangay Meeting, which convened the Punong Barangays and Barangay Treasurers on July 17, 2026, for the discussion of DILG Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 2026-038 and MC No. 2026-021. The session provided updates and guidance on the salient provisions of the memoranda to ensure their proper implementation and compliance at the barangay level.

The session was presided over by Hon. Nestor J. Baldon, Liga ng mga Barangay President, in the presence of LGOO VI Cheryss O. Flestado, City Local Government Operations Officer of DILG Sorsogon City. During the session, the Top 10 Performing Barangays of Sorsogon City for the First and Second Quarters of 2026 were recognized for their exemplary performance and steadfast commitment to excellence in local governance, effective public service delivery, compliance with DILG directives, and the implementation of mandated programs and initiatives.

The DILG Sorsogon City Operations Office presents the compliance status of the barangays in Sorsogon City for the month of May in the submission of weekly BarKaDa and monthly BaRCO reports under the KALINISAN Program.

The results reflect the active participation of the barangays within their respective communities to promote cleanliness, safety, peace and order, and economic development.

The Office continues to closely monitor report submissions and provide the necessary technical assistance to ensure timely compliance. Likewise, all barangays in Sorsogon City are encouraged to sustain their active participation in support of effective local governance and the successful implementation of the KALINISAN Program and other mandated initiatives.
