Buhatan National High School (BNHS) successfully conducted its 2nd General Assembly on July 22, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the school's Function Hall.
The program began with the registration of parents, HPTA and SPTA officers, and invited guests. The registration was facilitated by the SSLG officers under the supervision of Roselyn D. Baloloy, JHS Coordinator.
This was followed by the opening preliminaries, including the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the DepEd Prayer.
School Principal Lalaine L. Jarical formally welcomed the participants through her opening message. During her address, she reaffirmed the Department of Education's Vision, Mission, and Core Values, emphasizing their importance in strengthening the partnership between the school and parents.
The assembly proper commenced with a health orientation led by John Jay S. Hermosa, Nurse II, who discussed the importance of school-based deworming. He explained that the activity is timely as it coincides with the celebration of Nutrition Month. Nurse Hermosa also discussed the causes, symptoms, prevention, and treatment of helminthiasis (parasitic worm infection) and encouraged parents to support the Department of Health's deworming program. He also addressed common misconceptions about albendazole by presenting factual information on its safety and effectiveness.
In addition, he raised awareness on dengue prevention by sharing practical measures to reduce the risk of infection.
Nurse Hermosa was accompanied by Barangay Health Workers Sunshine H. Doncillo and Ma. Zenaida A. Gile.
Meanwhile, Joven L. Mariรฑo, Teacher VI, presented the implementation of the ARAL Mathematics and ARAL Reading programs. He shared the number of learners identified to participate in the intervention programs aimed at improving literacy and numeracy skills. He also presented the proposed implementation of students' School IDs and sought the parents' support and approval.
The outgoing SPTA President, Teresita Derla, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the school community for its unwavering support and cooperation during her term.
The program concluded with the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected SPTA Officers for School Year 2026- 2027, administered by School Principal Lalaine L. Jarical.
Overall, the 2nd General Assembly strengthened the partnership between the school and its stakeholders by providing parents with essential updates on learners' health, academic intervention programs, and other school initiatives.
The program was hosted by Cely Mae L. Barrozo, Teacher III, who served as the master of ceremonies.
