The Municipality of South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur conducted the Municipal Joint Security Coordinating Conference in preparation for the BARMM Parliamentary Elections, bringing together concerned government agencies, security forces, and Barangay Local Government Units to strengthen coordination and preparedness for a peaceful, orderly, and secure electoral process.

The activity featured messages from key representatives, including Election Officer III Nojoma Pangandaman-Omar, JD; PLT Albert F. Alarde, Chief of Police, South Upi MPS; Mr. Alejandro T. Intar, School District Supervisor, South Upi; and Hon. Helen Benito-Padua, Municipal Mayor of South Upi.

The conference also featured LTC Ronald M. Tarrayo INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, 57IB, 6ID, PA, as Guest Speaker, with Barangay Chairman ABC President Tito Balinto delivering the Closing Remarks.

From August 21 to September 22, 2026, South Upi will come alive through a month-long celebration featuring a diverse array of activities that highlight the municipalityโ€™s rich cultural heritage, Indigenous Peoplesโ€™ traditions, sports, agriculture, tourism, youth development, environmental stewardship, community service, and local governance.

The celebration will showcase cultural performances, Indigenous Peoplesโ€™ exhibitions, agricultural and livelihood fairs, sports competitions, trade expos, civic and educational activities, religious observances, youth programs, and community gatheringsโ€”all reflecting the strength, resilience, and unity of the people of South Upi throughout the past five decades.

A major highlight of the festivities is the 8th Sulagad Festival, which pays tribute to the vibrant cultural traditions and identities of the Teduray, Lambangian, and Dulangan Manobo Indigenous Peoples, while celebrating the shared heritage and peaceful coexistence of the Moro and Christian communities.

Isinagawa ang Monday Regular Flag Ceremony ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng South Upi, na dinaluhan ng mga opisyal at kawani ng LGU, gayundin ng mga kinatawan mula sa ibaโ€™t ibang national government agencies at partner institutions.

Ang lingguhang seremonyang ito ay nagsisilbing pagkakataon upang muling pagtibayin ang diwa ng paglilingkod-bayanโ€”sa pamamagitan ng pagkakaisa, disiplina, integridad, at pananagutan sa pagtupad ng bawat tungkulin.

Bilang former mayor ng South Upi at kinikilalang lider ng katutubong pamayanan, naging bahagi ng kanyang buhay ang paglilingkod at pamumuno sa ating bayan. Ang kanyang mga taon ng pagseserbisyo ay bahagi ng kuwento ng South Upi at ng mga pamayanang kanyang kinatawan at pinaglingkuran.

Sa pagkakataong ito ng pamamaalam, ipinakita ng Pamahalaang Bayan ang pakikiisa at paggalang sa kanyang pamilya, gayundin ang pagkilala sa kanyang naging papel sa kasaysayan at pag-unlad ng ating bayan.
