WARSHIP WEDNESDAYS | BRP Antonio Luna (FFG15)
BRP Antonio Luna (FFG15), the second Jose Rizal-class frigate of the Philippine Navy, was commissioned on March 19, 2021. Equipped with advanced missile, torpedo, and combat systems, the frigate is capable of Anti-Air, Anti-Surface, Anti-Submarine, and Electronic Warfare operations.
The vessel represented the Philippines during Rim of the Pacific Exercise 2022 in Hawaii, securing 3rd place in the Naval Surface Fire Support Rodeo.
On April 28, 2026, BRP Antonio Luna successfully conducted a Replenishment at Sea โ Liquid Transfer (RAS-L) with MV Asterix during Exercise Balikatan 41-2026 off Capones Island, demonstrating operational readiness and interoperability in multinational maritime operations.
