Future-Ready Faculty: Mastering Institutional Systems for Sustainable Global Impact

Today, the faculty members of Kolehiyo Ng Subic gathered at the Subic Sports Complex for the Seminar-Workshop: Future-Ready Faculty: Mastering Institutional Systems for Sustainable Global Impact, a meaningful initiative aimed at strengthening institutional excellence and fostering a globally competitive academic community.

The seminar-workshop was spearheaded by Ma’amJen Asuncion, Vice President for the Research and Extension Office, as an introduction to the institution's Quality Assurance Office, headed by Sir Jobe Gonzales.

The activity also highlighted the vital roles and collaborative efforts of the following offices:

Advancing Innovation and Sustainable Development Through Internationalization Office’ Program

During the Council Meeting held yesterday at the KNS AVR, the proposed entries for the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026 were presented as part of the institution's continuing commitment to excellence, innovation, and global engagement.

The discussion was led by Dr. Helen G. Gacillos, Head of the Internationalization Office, who provided a comprehensive overview of the WURI 2026 entry proposals and clearly explained the succeeding processes, timelines, and collaborative efforts necessary for a successful submission. Prior to this, Ma'am Yna presented the proposed entries and their relevance to the university's innovative initiatives and best practices.

The proposed WURI entries reflect KNS's dedication to creating meaningful impact through quality education, innovation, partnerships, and community engagement, contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

As KNS continues to expand its internationalization efforts, participation in WURI serves as a platform to showcase transformative initiatives that foster sustainable development and create positive change in both local and global communities.

Yesterday, KOLEHIYO NG SUBIC & LIMAY POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE headed by college presidents, Dr. Rosely H. Agustin & Dr. Elmer De Leon, marked a significant milestone through the Institutional Benchmarking and MOA Signing Agreement, reinforcing its commitment to continuous improvement and strategic collaboration. The activity brought together institutional partners in a shared effort to exchange best practices, strengthen academic systems, and promote innovation in higher education.

Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly (Quality Education) and (Partnerships for the Goals), the initiative emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving inclusive, equitable, and globally competitive education.

Key discussions centered on priority institutional areas. The Research Office highlighted strategies to enhance research productivity, strengthen publication outputs, and encourage a culture of inquiry and innovation.

The Quality Assurance Office shared frameworks and mechanisms to ensure academic excellence, compliance with standards, and continuous program improvement.

Meanwhile, the Internationalization Office aimed at expanding global linkages, fostering cross-border collaborations, and increasing opportunities for student and faculty mobility.

Through this benchmarking engagement and formalized partnership, KNS & LPC continues to build stronger systems and networks that support institutional growth and sustainable development.

Today, the Kolehiyo Ng Subic Internationalization Office, led by our Head of Internationalization, Doc Helen Gacillos, together with our VP for Research & Community Extension, Maam Jen Asuncion, and the Internationalization core group met via Zoom with Trent Global College Singapore to explore a potential internationalization partnership opportunity.

This promising collaboration between KNS and Trent Global aims to strengthen global academic linkages, create opportunities for student and faculty exchanges, enhance cross-cultural learning, and open pathways for international exposure and career advancement. Through this initiative, KNS continues to expand its commitment to quality education, global citizenship, and sustainable development.

Opening Doors to Global Impact: Kolehiyo ng Subic’s First Step Toward Internationalization

Last November 14, 2025, Kolehiyo ng Subic (KNS) marked a significant milestone in its journey toward global engagement and academic excellence through the “Get to Know WURI: Opening Doors for Kolehiyo ng Subic to Global Impact Network” forum held at the KNS AVR

The event, organized by the KNS Core Group on Internationalization, served as the institution’s initial strategic step in strengthening its internationalization program—anchored on innovation, global competitiveness, and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The morning session featured Dr. Mary Grace Manangan, College President of the Polytechnic College of Botolan, who shared insights on Student Support and Engagement and how these contribute to global rankings under the World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI). Highlighting their institution’s achievement—Rank 56 in Student Support and Engagement—Dr. Manangan emphasized that impactful education goes beyond instruction; it requires inclusive systems, strong community partnerships, and programs that directly address societal needs. Her discussion resonated strongly with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), encouraging KNS to design learner-centered initiatives that create measurable social impact.

In the afternoon session, Dr. Elmer De Leon, College President and Director for Internationalization of Limay Polytechnic College, shared best practices on building a culture of innovation and resilience. Presenting their recognitions in Culture/Values (Rank 41) and Crisis Management (Rank 54), he underscored the importance of institutional leadership, values-driven governance, and adaptive systems—principles aligned with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). His message reinforced that internationalization is not merely about global mobility, but about embedding global standards and sustainable impact into local operations.

The forum fostered meaningful dialogue among administrators, faculty, and staff, inspiring a shared commitment to elevate KNS into a globally connected and socially responsive institution. It highlighted that internationalization begins at home—through policy development, capacity building, benchmarking, and participation in global platforms such as WURI.

While this milestone activity took place in November 2025, this post serves as a late upload as we formally document and celebrate one of the foundational steps of Kolehiyo ng Subic’s internationalization journey. The delay in posting does not diminish the importance of the event; rather, it reflects our continued effort to consolidate outcomes and align our initiatives strategically with our long-term global vision.

In anticipation of the much-awaited United Nations Day Celebration 2025,the Internationalization Office in collaboration with Cultural Affairs Office, Sports & Athletics of Kolehiyo Ng Subic came together to prepare for a day of cultural unity, creativity, and festivity. With the theme “One Beat, One Dance, One World: Celebrating Global Unity Through Movement,”the event aimed to highlight the harmony and diversity of nations through music, dance, and food.
The preparations began with vibrant materials — colorful fabrics in red, yellow, blue, green, and violet — symbolizing the colors of different nations and the spirit of global unity. Invitations were carefully designed and distributed, featuring flags from around the world, inviting everyone in the KNS community to witness the celebration of culture through Music and Dance Around the World and the Global Food Festival.
Beautiful trophies and certificates were prepared to honor outstanding performances and contributions. Each trophy, adorned with elegant ribbons, represented the dedication and hard work of students who poured their creativity into their presentations.
The stage at Kolehiyo Ng Subic was transformed into a lively global arena. Adorned with international flags, music notes, silhouettes of dancers, and colorful decorations, the venue radiated festivity and cultural pride. The backdrop, balloons, and gold drapes created an atmosphere of joy and excitement, perfectly setting the tone for the celebration.
Students enthusiastically took part in the final arrangements, from decorating the venue to rehearsing their performances. Laughter and teamwork filled the air as they added finishing touches to the photo booth that proudly displayed “KNS 2025 Celebration.”
Through the collective efforts of the Kolehiyo Ng Subic community, the United Nations Day Celebration became not only a showcase of talents and cultures but also a symbol of global friendship, unity, and peace — living up to the true spirit of the United Nations.

The Big Day!📍
In celebration of the United Nations Day 2025, Kolehiyo Ng Subic proudly showcased the creativity, talent, and unity of its students through the “Music and Dance Around the World” competition. Guided by the theme:”One Beat, One Dance, One World: Celebrating Global Unity Through Movement”, the event became a vibrant expression of cultural appreciation and solidarity among nations.
The competition featured the four departments of Kolehiyo Ng Subic, each representing different countries through music, dance, and traditional attire. The covered court of KNS came alive with rhythmic beats, colorful costumes, and captivating choreography as students transported the audience on a cultural journey around the world.
Each performance reflected not only artistic excellence but also the values of cooperation, respect, and diversity — embodying the true essence of the United Nations. The cheers and applause from the audience filled the venue as performers poured their passion into every movement, celebrating the unity that transcends borders.
The event was further elevated by the elegant setup — adorned with global flags, cultural symbols, and vibrant decorations prepared by the KNS students themselves. The judges had the challenging task of selecting the winners, as every department delivered remarkable performances that highlighted their hard work and dedication.

The Opening Ceremony of the United Nations Day Celebration📍
The United Nations Day Celebration at Kolehiyo Ng Subic commenced with a solemn yet inspiring opening ceremony that set the tone for the day’s festivities. The program began with the KNS Chorale leading the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, filling the venue with pride and unity as the audience joined in the heartfelt rendition. Their harmonious voices reflected the spirit of patriotism and respect for the nation, marking a dignified start to the global celebration.
