LGU Sulop Conducts Kalipukanong Baktas for Watershed 2026 Tree Planting Activity

The Local Government Unit of Sulop conducted the Kalipukanong Baktas for Watershed 2026 Tree Planting Activity on May 29, 2026, at the Municipal Tree Park located in Barangay Laperas, Sulop, Davao del Sur.

The activity supports LGU Sulop’s 10th Parameter: “All Barangays have ONE HECTARE TREE PARK and 100 hectares of SULOP RANGE are REFORESTED.” It aims to promote environmental protection, watershed conservation, and sustainable development, while helping improve air and water quality for future generations.

The Municipal Government of Sulop successfully conducted the 2nd Quarter Municipal Town Hall Meeting (1st Cluster) on May 29, 2026, at the Barangay Solongvale Covered Court in Solongvale, Sulop, Davao del Sur.

The activity was spearheaded by Mayor Atty. Jose Jimmy S. Sagarino, together with Vice Mayor Willie S. Villegas and the Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, reaffirming the municipality’s continued commitment to transparent, responsive, and people-centered governance. Residents from Barangays Solongvale, Tanwalang, Katipunan, New Cebu, and Tala-o actively participated in the gathering. The Town Hall Meeting served as a venue for presenting municipal programs, updates, and accomplishments, while also providing residents the opportunity to raise community concerns through an open and constructive dialogue with local officials.

As part of the activity, each attending household received five (5) kilograms of rice from LGU Sulop. Free medicines were also distributed through the support of the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur under the leadership of Governor Yvonne R. Cagas, Vice Governor Marc Douglas Chan IV Cagas, and the Provincial Board Members. Additionally, slippers were provided to residents through the generosity of the Goodlife Community Cares Foundation., Inc.

The LGU Sulop extends its sincere appreciation to all participating residents and partner institutions for their continued support and cooperation in advancing programs and services that contribute to the welfare and development of the municipality.

In commemoration with the National Flag Day, the Local Government Unit of Sulop stands in solidarity as national flags were raised on May 28, 2026.

It was officiated by the local executive office led by Mayor Atty. Jose Jimmy S. Sagarino, together with the members of Sangguniang Bayan led by Vice Mayor Atty. Willie S. Villegas, members of the management team, and local employees.

Let these flag reminds us of our shared identity and our collective duty to build a progressive and united community.
