Local Government Unit of Sulop gathered for our monthly First Friday Santo Niรฑo Mass of September 2026 at the Municipal Covered Court, presided by Rev. Fr. Joseph Remi Nyengere, M.Afr.

Municipal officials and LGU employees, led by Municipal Mayor Atty. Jose Jimmy S. Sagarino and Vice Mayor Atty. Willie S. Villegas, together with the Sangguniang Bayan Members, Municipal Administrator Atty. Victoria D. Ababa, and Municipal Consultants, came together in reflection, thanksgiving, and unity.

September 03, 2026 I The Local Government Unit of Sulop conducted a meeting with the Parami Water System Association to discuss the existing water concerns of residents, particularly those in Purok 5, 6, and 7.

Part of the discussion focused on the extension of the water supply system to the identified puroks and the possible formation of an additional Water System Association in Barangay Parami. This initiative is aligned with ๐๐š๐ซ๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐๐จ. ๐Ÿ‘ of the Municipality of Sulop, which aims to ensure that ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž๐ก๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ฌ ๐ก๐š๐ฏ๐ž ๐š๐œ๐œ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ฉ๐จ๐ญ๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐ฐ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ.

During the meeting, ๐Œ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐œ๐ข๐ฉ๐š๐ฅ ๐Œ๐š๐ฒ๐จ๐ซ ๐€๐ญ๐ญ๐ฒ. ๐‰๐จ๐ฌ๐ž ๐‰๐ข๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐’. ๐’๐š๐ ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐จ also highlighted the importance of ๐˜ฑ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ข among community members and the LGU in addressing the water concern and ensuring that the water system can be properly managed and sustained.

A follow-up meeting is scheduled on ๐’๐ž๐ฉ๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“, ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”, with residents of ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐จ๐ค ๐Ÿ“, ๐Ÿ”, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐Ÿ• to further discuss the water supply, including the establishment of an additional water system association.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT UPDATE: LGU Sulop Steps Up Action for Barangay Laperas Water Infrastructure

In direct response to the communityโ€™s needs, Municipal Mayor Atty. Jose Jimmy S. Sagarino, together with Vice Mayor Atty. Willie S. Villegas and the Sangguniang Bayan Members convened a consultative meeting with barangay officials and community representatives of Barangay Laperas, Sulop, Davao del Sur. The meeting addressed long-standing concerns regarding the barangayโ€™s potable water supply.

The dialogue focused on concrete measures to provide every household with a reliable, safe, and sustainable source of clean water. Mayor Sagarino emphasized the importance of cooperation among residents and local officials in achieving this shared goal.
He also said that everyone must work together to ensure that the community has clean, safe, and sufficient water for drinking and daily household use. The installation of water meters for every connection was also discussed to promote responsible consumption, prevent water waste, ensure fair distribution, and help preserve the barangayโ€™s water supply.

Through continued cooperation and responsible water use, the Municipal Government and the community are working together toward a lasting solution for Barangay Laperas. This initiative supports the goal of achieving a satisfactory quality of life and fulfilling Parameter 3: ensuring that all households have potable water.

The LGU Sulop through MDRRMO conducted three days Basic Life Support (BLS) and Water Search and Rescue Training (WASAR) for Community Disaster Volunteers in August 31-Sept 2, 2026 at Leling Beach Resort, Hagonoy Davao del Sur.

The Ecological Conservation and Humanitarian Organization (ECHO) Rescue Volunteer Group founded by Hon. Brgy Kagawad Ryan S. Adalim of Brgy Astorga, Sta. Cruz Davao del Sur facilitated the training to the volunteers of Brgy Parami, Osmeรฑa, Clib, Litos, Laperas, Labon and Lapla. The training activities range from lecture series down to application of paddling, victim approach, water survival to basic life support and cardiovascular pulmonary resuscitation (BLS-CPR).

The activity ended with the distribution of rice incentives to participants during the closing program. This initiative is made possible through the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Atty Jose Jimmy S. Sagarino, Vice Mayor Hon. Atty Willie S. Villegas, SB Members and MDRRMO headed by Resty S. Deala and in partnership with the BLGUs.

September 02, 2026 โ€“ The people of Sulop expressed their gratitude to the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur for the successful turnover of the newly constructed Potable Water System in Barangay Tanwalang, benefiting residents of Purok 2 and 4. The โ‚ฑ3,500,000.00 project, funded under the CY 2025 Annual Investment Program (20% Development Fund), provides key water facilities, including a 15,000-liter elevated concrete reservoir, 130-meter drilled well, 780 meters of pipe laying, pumphouse, electric post, transformer, and submersible pump.

Representing the Municipality of Sulop were Municipal Mayor Atty. Jose Jimmy S. Sagarino, and the Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, who joined the turnover ceremony and conveyed their appreciation to Governor Hon. Yvonne R. Cagas, Vice Governor Hon. Marc Douglas C. Cagas IV, and the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur for their continued support to the municipality. The activity was also attended by Deputy Governor Hon. Bienvenido Montecillo, Provincial Board Members of the 2nd District, Barangay Officials of Tanwalang headed by Punong Barangay Hon. Rosa P. Sedenio, municipal functionaries, and community constituents.

September 02, 2026: NEW FARM-TO-MARKET ROAD IN BARANGAY LAPLA , SULOP DAVAO DEL SUR OFFICIALLY TURNED OVER

The Province of Davao del Sur under the leadership of Governor Hon. Yvonne R. Cagas, Vice Governor Hon. Marc Douglas C. Cagas IV, proudly turned over the newly improved Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) to the people of Barangay Lapla, Sulop, Davao del Sur represented by Punong Barangay Hon. Emedio M. Delos Reyes. The turn over was made even more meaningful by the presence also of our Provincial Board Members, Municipal Elected Officials, , Barangay Officials, functionaries, and the constituents from the said barangay.

The Turn over highlights a two vital phases of infrastructure development:

Sagarino, together with the Municipal Vice Mayor and the Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, extend its heartfelt gratitude to the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur for its unwavering support and continued provision of projects that directly benefit the Sulopians. Special appreciation is extended to Governor Hon. Yvonne R. Cagas, Vice Governor Hon. Marc Douglas C. Cagas IV, and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, particularly the representatives of District 2, for their invaluable support, cooperation, and contribution toward making this important project a reality.

In his message, Mayor Sagarino also thanked the municipal and barangay officials, and the residents whose cooperation contributed to the successful implementation of the project. He also emphasized that the project represents another significant step toward achieving Parameter No. 2 of the 10 Parameters for a Satisfactory Quality of Life for All Sulopians: All roads from the Barangay Hall to the Poblacion are concrete.
