𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐏, 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐍 — 𝐎𝐧 𝟐𝟖 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 32nd Infantry (DAREDEVIL) Battalion, 11th Infantry (ALAKDAN) Division, Philippine Army, under the leadership of LTC GERWIN T MAGHUYOP INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, the donation turnover highlights the continuing partnership between the Philippine Army Finance Center Producers Integrated Cooperative (PAFCPIC), Zamboanga City, during a turnover ceremony held at Headquarters 32IB, Brgy. Tumahubong, Sumisip, Basilan.

The turnover was led by Ms. Lelibeth F. Danial, PSO Manager, PAFCPIC, together with Ms. Angeique Y. Rodriguez, Loan Specialist, PAFCPIC, and Ms. Xena Glaze D. Urbano, MMA, PAFCPIC. The activity highlighted the cooperative’s continued support and commitment to extending assistance to Philippine Army personnel and strengthening its partnership with military units in the field.

The donation serves as a meaningful gesture of support to the personnel of the 32IB, recognizing their dedication and commitment to fulfilling their mandate in maintaining peace and security while serving the communities of Basilan.

LTC Maghuyop expressed his appreciation to PAFCPIC for the generosity and support extended to the Battalion. He emphasized that partnerships with organizations such as PAFCPIC contribute significantly to the welfare and morale of Army personnel and reinforce the spirit of cooperation among stakeholders.

The activity underscores the importance of collaboration between the Philippine Army and its partner organizations in promoting the welfare of soldiers and sustaining meaningful partnerships in support of their mission.

𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐏, 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐍 — Troops of the 32nd Infantry (DAREDEVIL) Battalion, 11th Infantry (ALAKDAN) Division, Philippine Army, rendered immediate assistance to a motorcycle rider involved in a road accident along the Basilan Circumferential Road in Barangay Mahatalang, Sumisip, Basilan, at around 10:00 AM on 23 September 2026.

While passing through the area, 32IB troops under the leadership of LTC GERWIN T MAGHUYOP INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, noticed an injured rider lying along the roadside beside his motorcycle. The troops immediately stopped, administered first aid, and coordinated with local rescuers for further medical assistance.

The rider was identified as Sam A. Jalil, 19, a resident of Barangay Sukaten, Sumisip, Basilan.

The 32IB remains committed to supporting the safety and well-being of communities and providing timely assistance to individuals in need within its area of responsibility.

𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐎, 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐍 — 𝐎𝐧 𝟐𝟓 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 32nd Infantry (DAREDEVIL) Battalion, 11th Infantry (ALAKDAN) Division, Philippine Army, under the leadership of LTC GERWIN T MAGHUYOP INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, through 1LT PAULMAR G BUENAVENTE INF PA, Commanding Officer of Charlie Company, participated in the 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held at the DRRM Operations Center, Upper Port Holland, Maluso, Basilan.

The activity brought together key municipal offices and emergency response agencies to strengthen coordination, preparedness, and community resilience in the event of an earthquake or other seismic emergencies.

Participating officials and representatives included Hon. Ahmad Rugasan T. Daud, Vice Mayor of Maluso; Marrites R. Potenciano, MSWDO; Jinnathz S. Camlian, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (MDRRM) Officer; Maria Pilar N. Tawasil, DENREO-A Maluso Center Officer; PMAJ ARNEL N DE OCAMPO, Chief of Police, Maluso Municipal Police Station; and SPO3 RUBEN A MAQUINAY JR., Officer-in-Charge Municipal Fire Marshal, BFP-Maluso, together with other personnel and stakeholders.

The drill focused on enhancing the participants’ awareness, preparedness, and proper response procedures before, during, and after an earthquake. It also provided an opportunity for participating agencies to assess their coordination mechanisms and reinforce established protocols for emergency response and disaster operations.

The active participation of the 32IB highlights the Philippine Army’s continuing commitment to supporting local government units and partner agencies in strengthening disaster preparedness and ensuring the safety and protection of communities.

Through sustained coordination, training, and participation in disaster preparedness activities such as the NSED, the 32IB continues to contribute to building a more prepared, resilient, and disaster-ready community in Basilan.

𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐏, 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐍 — 𝐎𝐧 𝟐𝟓 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 32nd Infantry (DAREDEVIL) Battalion, 11th Infantry (ALAKDAN) Division, Philippine Army, under the leadership of LTC GERWIN T MAGHUYOP INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, extended sustenance support to its troops deployed in various Patrol Bases within Sumisip and Maluso, Basilan.

The initiative, led by CPT LEONEL VICTOR A MADRID (INF) PA, Commanding Officer of Delta Company, involved the distribution of 24 sacks of rice to personnel manning the different Patrol Bases. The assistance was provided to help sustain the troops as they continue performing their duties in their respective areas of deployment.

Personnel assigned to Patrol Bases carry out essential tasks that include maintaining security, monitoring their respective areas, and responding to the needs of communities within their vicinity. Given the nature of their deployment, ensuring that they have adequate basic provisions contributes to their welfare, morale, and continued readiness to perform their responsibilities.

The distribution also highlights the unit's continuing commitment to the welfare of its personnel. Beyond operational readiness, the 32IB recognizes that sustained support and attention to the basic needs of its soldiers are important in maintaining their morale and dedication to duty.

CPT MADRID emphasized the importance of ensuring that soldiers deployed in the field receive the necessary support as they fulfill their responsibilities. The activity likewise serves as a gesture of appreciation for the commitment and sacrifices of personnel who remain steadfast in their respective posts in support of peace and security efforts in Basilan.

Through this initiative, the 32IB continues to uphold its commitment to the welfare of its troops while strengthening their readiness to serve the people and communities within its area of responsibility.

𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐏, 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐍 — 𝐎𝐧 𝟐𝟓 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 32nd Infantry (DAREDEVIL) Battalion, 11th Infantry (ALAKDAN) Division, Philippine Army, under the leadership of LTC GERWIN T MAGHUYOP INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, conducted a lecture and practical exercise on Fire Support Coordination Training at Headquarters 32IB, Barangay Tumahubong, Sumisip, Basilan.

The activity was facilitated by Ssg Jesus S Mosqueda (INF) PA, Platoon Sergeant of the Mortar Platoon, and was participated in by the Officer and Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) of the 32IB.

The lecture and practical exercise focused on strengthening the participants’ knowledge and understanding of fire support coordination procedures, while providing them with practical experience in applying the concepts discussed during the training.

The activity further enhanced the NCOs’ skills, coordination capabilities, and readiness in support of unit operations. It also emphasized the importance of effective communication, proper coordination, and teamwork in ensuring the timely and appropriate employment of fire support assets.

Through continuous training and practical exercises, the 32IB remains committed to developing competent and capable personnel who are prepared to effectively perform their duties and contribute to the successful accomplishment of the unit’s mission.

𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐏, 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐍— Troops of the 32nd Infantry (DAREDEVIL) Battalion, 11th Infantry (ALAKDAN) Division, Philippine Army, in coordination with the Sumisip Municipal Police Station, successfully confiscated ten (10) illegally cut Lawaan round logs during a joint operation in Barangay Mahatalang, Sumisip, Basilan, on 23 September 2026.

The operation stemmed from information provided by a concerned citizen regarding the presence of illegally cut trees in the area. Acting on the report, personnel from the Sumisip Municipal Police Station, led by PCPT Jakaria Muin, together with troops from Bravo Company, 32IB, led by 2LT Zosimo R Conde III (INF) PA, immediately proceeded to the reported location to verify the information.

Upon reaching the area, the joint operating troops discovered and secured ten (10) illegally cut Lawaan round logs, consisting of 2 logs measuring 8 feet in length and 8 logs measuring 10 feet in length.
The confiscated logs were subsequently transported to Headquarters, 32nd Infantry Battalion, for proper documentation, due process, and appropriate disposition in coordination with the concerned authorities.
LTC GERWIN T MAGHUYOP INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of the 32nd Infantry Battalion, emphasized the importance of community participation in protecting Basilan's natural resources.

“The timely information provided by a concerned citizen demonstrates the vital role of the community in protecting our environment. The 32IB, together with our PNP and other government partners, will continue to support law enforcement efforts against illegal logging and other activities that threaten our natural resources and the welfare of our communities.”

The 32IB remains committed to working closely with law enforcement agencies, local government units, concerned government offices, and the people of Basilan in promoting environmental protection, peace, security, and sustainable development throughout its area of responsibility.
