Surallah SK Officials Oriented on Revised GEMS for SK 2026 Guidelines
SURALLAH, South Cotabato โ The Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) successfully conducted the Orientation on the Revised Implementing Guidelines for the Governance Exemplars for Meaningful Service (GEMS) for SK 2026 on May 29, 2026, at the HRD Training Hall. The activity gathered Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairpersons, Treasurers, and Secretaries from the municipality in preparation for the upcoming evaluation period.
The orientation was facilitated by the Local Youth Development Office headed by YDO III Irene Rose Javellana, Chairperson of the Municipal Monitoring and Evaluation Team (MET). Participants were welcomed by MSWDO Head Rhoda Leaf Catoto, RSW, who delivered a message of support and encouraged SK officials to continue promoting excellence in youth governance. Municipal Administrator Benjamin Datinguinoo also conveyed an inspirational message and the support of Municipal Mayor Hon. Pedro M. Matinong Jr. for the GEMS for SK program and youth development initiatives.
One of the highlights of the orientation was the discussion on the Financial Administration Indicator led by Amy Payunan, CPA, a member of the Municipal Evaluation Team. The session also covered the four major areas for evaluation: Leadership and Innovativeness, Development Planning, Organizational Effectiveness, and Financial Administration. Assisting in the facilitation of the activity were LYDO Admin Aide IV Michell Tuan, LYDO staff Christelyn Cornelia, and SPES beneficiaries. The Municipal Evaluation is scheduled on the 3rd to 4th week of June 2026, while the Provincial Evaluation will take place in July 2026.
