Surallah SK Federation Undergoes Provincial GEMS for SK Evaluation

The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Surallah underwent the Provincial GEMS for SK Evaluation on July 3, 2026, at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall.

The evaluation was conducted by the Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation Team (MET) from the , headed by YDO III EnP Jobeelyn Baitus-Corilla , together with Mr. Patrick John Gatdula and Mr. Pablo Lorenzo Jr of the South Cotabato Provincial Youth and Development Office . The team assessed the federation's documents in the areas of Leadership and Innovativeness, Development Planning, Organizational Effectiveness, and Financial Administration.

Joining the activity were SK Federation President Hon. Pritcel Hans Espallardo , the municipality's SK Chairpersons, , MLGOO Maria Fe Soto, YDO III Irene Rose Javellana , LYDO Admin Aide IV Michell Tuan , and LYDO Clerk II Christelyn Cornelia .

The evaluation highlights the SK Federation of Surallah's commitment to good governance, transparency, and effective youth leadership, further strengthening its mission of delivering meaningful and responsive programs for the youth of Surallah.

Day 2 of GEMS for SK Evaluation Covers 10 More Barangays

The second day of the GEMS for Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Evaluation continued on July 2, 2026, at Bahay ni Lolo at ni Lola, with the Municipal Monitoring and Evaluation Team (MMET) assessing the performance of ten more SK Councils in the Municipality of Surallah.

The evaluation was conducted by the MMET composed of MLGOO Maria Fe Soto, YDO III Irene Rose Javellana, Admin Officer II Amy Bolodo, CPA, LCPC Focal Regelyn Berto, RSW, and Admin Assistant IV Cresilda Mariano, with assistance from LYDO staff Admin Aide IV Michell Tuan and LYDO Clerk II Christelyn Cornelia.

Represented by their respective SK Chairpersons, the SK Councils of Barangays Lambontong, Libertad, Centrala, Colongulo, Naci, Little Baguio, Moloy, Talahik, Upper Sepaka, and Veterans underwent evaluation in the areas of Organizational Effectiveness, Development Planning, Financial Administration, and Leadership and Innovativeness. Overall 16 out of 17 barangays presented themselves for GEMS for SK evaluation.

The two-day GEMS for SK Evaluation serves as a mechanism to assess the performance of SK Councils, promote accountability and transparency, and encourage excellence in youth leadership and governance across the Municipality of Surallah. Highly performing SK Councils will be recognized after MMET's consolidation. .

Surallah SK Councils Undergo Two-Day GEMS for SK Evaluation

July 1, 2026 : The Municipal Monitoring and Evaluation Team (MMET) officially commenced the two-day GEMS for SK Evaluation of the Sangguniang Kabataan Councils in the Municipality of Surallah to assess their performance and strengthen youth governance.

The evaluation team is composed of MLGOO Maria Fe Soto, YDO III Irene Rose Javellana, Admin Officer II Amy Bolodo, CPA, LCPC Focal Regelyn Berto, RSW, and Admin Assistant II Cresilda Mariano, with assistance from LYDO staff Admin Aide IV Michell Tuan and LYDO Clerk II Christelyn Cornelia.

The evaluation covers four key areas: Organizational Effectiveness, Development Planning, Financial Administration, and Leadership and Innovativeness. On the first day, the Sangguniang Kabataan Councils of Barangays Buenavista, Centrala, Duengas, Dajay, Lamsugod, and Lamian, represented by their respective SK Chairpersons, underwent the assessment. The remaining barangays are scheduled to undergo evaluation on July 2.

The GEMS for SK Evaluation aims to recognize good governance practices, ensure compliance with established standards, and encourage continuous improvement in the delivery of programs and services for the youth sector.

Brgy. Moloy Holds 2026 First Semester Linggo ng Kabataan Assembly

Brgy. ​Moloy, Surallah — In a vibrant showcase of youth leadership and civic engagement, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Moloy successfully convened its First Semester Katipunan ng Kabataan Assembly at the Barangay Moloy Gymnasium on June 30, 2026.

​Led by SK Chairperson Hon. Rustom Alido and his active SK Council, the assembly drew a massive crowd of local youth, highlighted by the enthusiastic participation of high school students from Moloy High School Inc.Also present is the School Administrator Owner Mr. Antonio Javier.

​The productive day-long event focused heavily on youth safety, well-being, and future civic duties. To prepare the students for unforeseen disasters, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted a comprehensive Fire and Earthquake Drill, teaching practical, life-saving evacuation skills. Immediately following the drill, the youth were engaged in the "Barkada Kontra Droga" (BKD) campaign. Led by MADAC Focal PS I Romar De Jesus, the campaign emphasized the power of peer groups in maintaining a drug-free community.

​A major highlight of the assembly was the speech by Youth Development Officer III, Irene Rose Javellana. She emphasized the legal framework of youth governance under Republic Act 10742 and challenged the attendees to use social media responsibly as a tool for positive community change. Most importantly, Javellana rallied the crowd to exercise their right to vote and actively participate in the crucial upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on November 2, 2026.

Brgy. Lambontong Holds 1st Semester 2026 Katipunan ng Kabataan Assembly

The Katipunan ng Kabataan (KK) Assembly for the 1st Semester of Calendar Year 2026 was successfully conducted on June 28, 2026 at Barangay Lambontong under the leadership of SK Chairperson Hon. Dether Pahilagao. The assembly served as a venue to strengthen youth participation, transparency, and engagement in barangay governance.

The activity was attended by Punong Barangay Hon. Letecia Pedroso, Brgy. Kagawad Cornelio Vilan III, YDO III Irene Rose Javellana, MADAC Focal PS I Romar De Jesus, SK Chairperson Hon. Jason Padrillan, and RAC-RAS Resource Person Mr. Rey Narce Jr., who shared valuable insights on youth development and community involvement.

In her message, Ms. Javellana underscored the importance of conducting the KK Assembly as mandated under Republic Act No. 10742 (Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015). She also encouraged the youth to practice responsible social media posting and actively prepare for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.

One of the highlights of the assembly was the presentation of the SK Council Accomplishment Report by Hon. Dether Pahilagao, showcasing the council's completed programs, projects, and initiatives for the youth. The report promoted transparency and accountability while reaffirming the SK's commitment to serving the young people of Barangay Lambontong.

Strengthening collaboration for youth development!

June 26, 2025 - The League of Youth Development Officers (LYDO) – South Cotabato Chapter successfully held its 6th Regular Meeting in T'boli, South Cotabato, graciously hosted by LYDO Designate James Doming. The meeting was presided over by League President Irene Rose Javellana and attended by Provincial Youth Development Office YDO I Ray Lorenzo and staff, YDO Alcorin of Polomolok, YDO Descuatan of Koronadal, YDO Gabion of Norala, and other Youth Development Officers who joined both onsite and through the online platform. Also present were partner offices of the LYDO T'boli, including the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) and the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMAG). The gathering served as a venue to strengthen partnerships, share best practices, and reaffirm the commitment of every municipality toward empowering the youth of South Cotabato.
