🚨 BIR DEADLINE EXTENSION ALERT! 🚨

Attention taxpayers and business owners! The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has just released Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 095-2026.

Due to the recent technical issues making the eBIRForms Offline Package unavailable, as well as the continuous heavy rainfall brought about by the Southwest Monsoon, the BIR is providing some much-needed relief.

📌 Key Details:

Extended Deadline: The new deadline is extended until August 18, 2026.

Covered Taxpayers: This extension applies to taxpayers identified in RMC No. 089-2026. It also applies to any taxpayers affected by the unavailability of the eBIRForms Offline Package.

What is Covered: The extension covers the electronic filing of tax returns and the payment of corresponding taxes. It also includes the submission of required documents without corresponding penalties.

Original Deadlines Affected: This adjusts the schedule for various returns, e-filings, and submissions originally due between August 10, 2026, and August 17, 2026.

⚠️ Important Note: Taxpayers who are mandated to use the Electronic Filing and Payment System (eFPS) and are not identified in RMC No. 089-2026 are not covered by this extension. These taxpayers must still utilize eFPS for filing and payment.

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 the joint statement of the Department of Finance and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) on the tax relief measures highlighted by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during his Fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 27, 2026.

The One-Time Tax Abatement Program for Micro Taxpayers, issued on June 22, 2026 through Revenue Regulations (RR) No. 4-2026, provides qualified micro taxpayers relief from outstanding tax liabilities and penalties. Upon the recommendation of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the BIR also expanded the VAT exemption on medicines through Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 27-2026 issued on April 8, 2026, making more essential medicines VAT-exempt and helping reduce healthcare costs for Filipinos.
