Today, August 21, we commemorate the life, legacy, and sacrifice of 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨 “𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲” 𝐒. 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐉𝐫., whose courage and dedication to democracy continue to inspire the Filipino people.

As part of the 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗴𝗼 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 2026 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Taft proudly and successfully implemented its 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀, reaffirming our commitment to recognizing academic excellence and promoting accessible education for every one.

A total of 38 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀, including 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗺 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗲, received recognition and incentives through the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, while 80 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 to help support their academic journey.

: Following the recent fire incident in Barangay Taft today, the City Social Welfare and Development Office -Surigao City (CSWDO) is currently conducting the registration of families affected by the fire.

Affected families are advised to proceed to:

Barangay Taft Gym (Nueva Gym) also serve as the temporary evacuation center for families who may need a safe place to stay following the incident.

The registration is being conducted to properly document the affected families and facilitate the appropriate assistance and services from the City Government.

We encourage all affected families to cooperate with the CSWDO personnel and provide the necessary information during the registration process.

The City Government of Surigao remains committed to standing with our affected families and ensuring that they receive the necessary assistance during this difficult time.

📌 Important Reminder:
For beneficiaries who will not be able to claim their incentives or subsidy personally, their authorized representative must bring an Authorization Letter and a Valid ID.

‼️The beneficiaries of the cash incentives for graduates and school uniform subsidy program will receive a text from the SK Council for further details and announcements.
