🎓 KAP DALISAY BARANGAY SCHOLAR — 1ST BATCH 🇵🇭

A proud and meaningful milestone for the youth of Barangay Pacifico!

The BBM Bawat Barangay Makikinabang Scholarship Program provides educational assistance to a limited number of beneficiaries. Recognizing that many other deserving students in our community also need support, Punong Barangay Hon. Dalisay Maitem is extending her commitment through the Kap Dalisay Barangay Scholar Program.

This is her personal initiative to support more students and help them continue their education despite financial challenges. Through this program, more students from Barangay Pacifico are given the opportunity to pursue their studies and work toward their dreams.

📚 1ST BATCH OF BENEFICIARIES
Date: Sept. 23, 2026
Venue: Barangay Hall, Brgy Pacifico

Each scholar received ₱5,000 in educational assistance:

1. Mayeth Placido— ₱5,000

Total Assistance: ₱25,000 🎓

🌫️ HAZE AWARENESS | BARANGAY PACIFICO

Mga taga-Pacifico, awareness and precaution lang ta. 🌊

A haze is a layer of very small particles, smoke, dust, or other pollutants suspended in the air that can make the sky or distant areas—including the ocean horizon—look gray, smoky, or less clear.

Because Pacifico faces the Pacific Ocean, residents may notice haze or reduced visibility over the sea. Atmospheric conditions and wind patterns can transport smoke and fine particles over long distances, including potentially from Indonesia. However, a hazy appearance alone does not confirm that the haze we see is from Indonesia. It may also be caused by humidity, sea mist, clouds, or local air conditions.

🩺 SIMPLE HEALTH MONITORING

Please observe yourself and your family for possible symptoms such as:

• 👀 Eye irritation or watery eyes
• 👃 Nose or throat irritation
• 😷 Coughing or unusual throat discomfort
• 🤧 Increased sneezing or runny nose
• 😮‍💨 Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
• 🤕 Headache or unusual dizziness

What to do:
✅ Stay indoors or limit prolonged outdoor activities if the air becomes visibly hazy or irritating.
✅ Drink enough water and rest when needed.
✅ Consider wearing a well-fitting mask when going outdoors during noticeable haze.
✅ Children, senior citizens, pregnant women, and people with existing breathing or heart conditions should take extra precautions.
✅ Avoid burning garbage, leaves, or other materials, as additional smoke can worsen local air quality.

🚨 If someone develops severe difficulty breathing, chest pain, confusion, fainting, or other serious symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.

🎓✨ 🎓❤️ SUPPORTING THE DREAMS OF OUR YOUTH

Proud moment for Barangay Pacifico! ❤️

Five (5) of our college students were blessed to receive ₱20,000 each, or a total of ₱100,000, through the BBM – Bawat Barangay Makikinabang Program. This assistance will help them with their tuition, school projects, and other educational needs. 🎓📚

But beyond the financial assistance, what matters most is the message we want our young people to hear:

“Keep pursuing your education. Your dreams matter, and we are here to support you.” 🎓❤️

While the BBM program accommodates five students, Barangay Pacifico will continue to look for ways to help more of our students. Through the Barangay Scholar initiative, qualified students who are not covered by the program may receive additional support through the personal commitment of Punong Barangay Hon. Dalisay Maitem.

This is not about the amount of assistance.
It is about giving our youth hope, opportunity, and a reason to keep pursuing their dreams. ❤️

🌿 PRVA COMMUNITY WALK-THROUGH | BARANGAY PACIFICO

Barangay Pacifico proudly participated in the PRVA Community Walk-Through under the DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS Panahon ng Pagkilos – Philippine Community Resilience Project (PCRP).

This activity allowed our community to personally observe and identify areas, facilities, and situations that may pose risks or vulnerabilities, while also recognizing our existing strengths and resources.

Together with our community volunteers and partners, we continue to build a safer, more prepared, and more resilient Barangay Pacifico. 💪🌊

A heartfelt thank you to all our dedicated volunteers, community members, and partners who participated in the DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS Panahon ng Pagkilos: Philippine Community Resilience Project (PCRP) activities in Barangay Pacifico.

Through the Participatory Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (PRVA), our community came together to identify our risks, vulnerabilities, resources, and strengths. More than just mapping our barangay, this activity strengthened our spirit of bayanihan, participation, and preparedness.

💧 Water Supply Advisory

We sincerely apologize for the very slow water supply in our community.

At present, our water tank is unable to fill properly because of the unstable electricity supply (on and off), which is affecting our water system. Unfortunately, the automatic switch of our water supply is also not functioning properly, making it difficult for the pump to operate continuously and fill the tank.

We understand the inconvenience this is causing, especially to households who depend on our water supply. We are doing our best to address the problem and restore the water pressure as soon as possible.

🙏 We sincerely ask for your patience, understanding, and cooperation.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates once the system is back to normal.

Due to the very high heat index, we kindly ask everyone to refrain from making small or large bonfires, burning garbage, leaves, wood, or any materials in your backyard or open areas for the meantime.

☀️ Tungod sa grabe nga kainit sa panahon karon, dali ra kaayo mokatag ang kalayo ug mahimong hinungdan sa sunog nga makaapekto sa atong mga balay ug komunidad.

🙏 Palihug, ayaw sa paghimo og bonfire o pagsunog sa gawas sa inyong balay. Let us prioritize the safety of our families, neighbors, and the entire community.

🚨 PACIFICO IS NOT YOUR DUMPING AREA! 🚨

Caught in the act! This vehicle was seen throwing garbage along the road near the Welcome to Pacifico area.

Our Barangay Tanods and utility workers had just cleaned the area, properly segregated the garbage, and were waiting for the scheduled garbage collection. Then, here comes a vehicle from outside the community, dropping off its garbage in our area.

When confronted, the reason given was that they were traveling from General Luna and were looking for a place to dispose of their garbage.

Sir, excuse us—but Barangay Pacifico is NOT the sanitary landfill of Siargao. 🙅‍♀️

Please respect our community. Our barangay workers spend time, effort, and resources keeping Pacifico clean. It is unfair to our residents and to the people working hard to maintain our surroundings when garbage from outside is simply dumped here.

📍 To everyone passing through Pacifico:
Please bring your garbage to the proper disposal facility in your own area. DO NOT leave it along our roads, vacant spaces, coastal areas, or anywhere within Barangay Pacifico.

🗑️ PACIFICO IS A COMMUNITY, NOT A DUMPING GROUND.

We are appealing to everyone: Please be responsible. Keep your garbage with you until you reach the proper disposal facility.

Let us respect Pacifico. Let us protect our environment. 🌿🌊
