𝐽𝑢𝑙𝑦 24, 2026 | 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑙 𝐴𝑔𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑢𝑙𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑂𝑓𝑓𝑖𝑐𝑒, 𝑆𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑔𝑎𝑜 𝑑𝑒𝑙 𝑁𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑒

The Provincial Agricultural and Fishery Council (PAFC) of Surigao del Norte successfully conducted its election, bringing together Municipal Agricultural and Fishery Council (MAFC) Chairpersons and sectoral representatives from across the province to elect a new set of council officers.

The election was conducted in a transparent, credible, and orderly manner under the guidance of the Electoral Board, with representatives from the Provincial Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) serving as official observers to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.

The successful conduct of the election reflects the council’s commitment to participatory leadership, good governance, and stronger collaboration among stakeholders in the agriculture and fisheries sector. The newly elected officers are expected to lead the council in representing the voices and interests of farmers, fisherfolk, and other agricultural stakeholders while supporting the continued growth and development of the sector in Surigao del Norte.

𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙇𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙖 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙁2𝘾2

The Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte through the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAgrO) and in coordination with the Municipal Agriculture Office of Placer, successfully conducted the Banana Cluster Meeting at the Municipal Agriculture Office, Placer, Surigao del Norte, today, July 17, 2026.

The meeting aims to discuss the current status of the banana cluster within the Mabini United Farmers Cooperative (MAUNFACO) Cluster and facilitate its completion of its enrollment process under the Farm and Fisheries Clustering and Consolidation (F2C2) Program.

The meeting was attended by the Provincial F2C2 Technical Working Group, Provincial High Value Crops Development Coordinator, Representative from DA-APCO Surigao del Norte, Municipal Banana Focal Persons/HVCDP Coordinators from the different concerned municipalities to consolidate documentary requirements and address issues necessary for the enrollment of the cluster.
