A new hope, a new beginning, and new opportunities were extended to former Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) as they received livelihood assistance through the collaborative efforts of various government agencies and stakeholders.

The initiative was made possible through the partnership of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the Department of Education (DepEd), working together to provide former PDL with opportunities to rebuild their lives, develop their skills, and pursue sustainable livelihood.

The program was led by JSINSP BERNARD G POBE, Warden of BJMPโ€“Surigao City, together with Joselito Ecoben of TESDA Surigao del Norte, Hermiet Lerog of DepEd ALS, Arciazel Lagrama, PESDO Manager, and Reggie Mae Deberto of DOLE.

The initiative was also supported by Juander Radyoโ€“Surigao, headed by Ka Juander Rolando B. Dungog, Station Manager, whose continued partnership contributes to promoting opportunities and positive transformation for former PDL.

Through the united efforts of these agencies and stakeholders, former PDL are given a second chance to stand on their own, provide for their families, and rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.

Ang Surigao City Jail nag-awhag ug nagdapit sa tanang kanhing Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) nga moapil sa usa ka yano apan makahuluganon nga panagtapok nga gituyo aron maghatag og suporta, inspirasyon, ug pagdasig alang sa ilang padayon nga pagpaningkamot sa paghimo og mas maayong kaugmaon.

Kini nga panagtapok mahimong unang lakang padulong sa bag-ong kinabuhi, diin ang mga kanhing PDL makapahimamat pag-usab, makapaambit sa ilang mga kasinatian, ug mapahinumdoman nga adunay kanunay nga higayon alang sa pagbag-o, pagtubo, ug positibong kontribusyon sa komunidad.

Ang Surigao City Jail padayon nga nagpakabana sa malampusong pagbalik ug pagdawat sa kanhing PDL ngadto sa katilingban pinaagi sa paghatag og giya, suporta, ug mga programa sa aftercare.

Today, JSINSP BERNARD G POBE, together with Chief Welfare and Development Officer SJO1 Joyce Anne M Virtudazo and other personnel of Surigao City Jail, participated in the Convergence Meeting with PESDO, TESDA, DOLE Surigao del Norte, and DepEd Surigao City.

The meeting served as a platform to strengthen collaboration and develop sustainable programs focused on the education, skills enhancement, livelihood opportunities, and reintegration support for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

Through the collective efforts of partner agencies, Surigao City Jail continues to promote meaningful interventions that equip PDL with knowledge, skills, and opportunities necessary for a productive and successful return to the community.
