24 Hour Tropical Cyclone Formation Outlook 🌀

As of 2:00 AM today, 18 August 2026, the Low Pressure Area (LPA 08f) is being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and now has a “HIGH” chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, another Low Pressure Area (LPA 08g) is being monitored outside the PAR and has a “MEDIUM” chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA.

𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐌 𝐂𝐈𝐑𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐑 𝐍𝐎. 𝟏𝟐𝟖, 𝐬. 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and in view of the Heavy Rainfall Warnings issued by PAGASA relative to the continuous heavy rainfall associated with the Southwest Monsoon, government offices in the National Capital Region and the provinces of Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, and Occidental Mindoro are directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements on 18 August 2026.

Agencies delivering basic and health services, disaster preparedness/response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services. Alternative learning modes shall be implemented for classes at all levels in public and private schools in the aforementioned areas.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

PUBLIC ADVISORY📣

Due to inclement weather caused by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), all face-to-face classes at all levels, both public and private in Suyo, Ilocos Sur are suspended on August 11, 2026 (Tuesday). Schools will implement modular learning to ensure educational continuity.

Meanwhile, government offices will remain open and operate as usual.

Everyone is advised to stay alert, follow official advisories, and prioritize safety at all times.

Residents in high-risk areas, particularly those living near slopes, rivers, low-lying communities, and coastal zones are directed to evacuate immediately and proceed to designated evacuation centers.
