LOCAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
August 24, 2026

The Local School Board of the Municipality of Tabango, Leyte headed by Mayor Maricor Remandaban, convened today to discuss key education priorities and programs for our learners and teachers.

MEETING HIGHLIGHTS:
1. SEF Utilization Update - Review of ongoing projects and programs funded by the Special Education Fund
2. Other Matters:
a. LSB Regular Meeting Schedule
b. Area Meet 2027 Hosting Preparations
c. Strengthening DepEd and LGU Coordination
d. World Teachersโ€™ Day Celebration Plans
e. Upcoming Tree/Mangrove Planting Activity

Education is a shared responsibility. Together with DepEd and our school stakeholders, we are building better learning spaces and opportunities for every Tabangohanon.

The local government unit of Tabango in Leyte has expressed appreciation for the governmentโ€™s Unified Package for Livelihood, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) program, which provides much-needed economic relief to vulnerable families and individuals.

The program, implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), provides financial aid to poor and near-poor households for a period of six months, to help beneficiaries cope with financial difficulties and rebuild their sources of income.
