Successful Surrender and Debriefing of Former Communist Terrorist Group Members by Joint Forces in Lian, Batangas
Lian, Batangas - On June 8, 2024, personnel of the 34th Special Action Company, 3rd Special Action Battalion as lead unit together with the elements of 403rd Army Mobile Company (AMC) 2nd Forward Platoon, Lian Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit 4A, Provincial Intelligence Team Batangas, and the Regional Intelligence Division 4A Regional Intelligence Team Batangas successfully facilitated the voluntary surrender of former members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG).
The CTG members, identified as alias “Zaldy”, alias “Carding”, both formerly under Ugnay sa Masa SPL Lumaniag, NPAs in the Barrio of Eduardo Dagli Command Group SRMA4C, SPP KAWING and residents of Brgy. Lumaniag, Lian, Batangas; and alias “Ukay/Obet”, also under SPL Lumaniag Ugnay sa Masa, NPAs in the Barrio and also a resident of Brgy. Lumaniag, Lian, Batangas, have chosen to abandon their armed struggle in favor of a peaceful resolution.
These former CTG members are now undergoing custodial debriefing for processing and documentation, as well as applications for the government's Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP). This program is designed to aid former rebels in their transition back into society by providing various forms of support and assistance.
This successful operation underscores the strategic approach of the PNP SAF and its allied agencies in fostering regional peace and stability. The government remains steadfast in its commitment to engage and provide opportunities for those who wish to renounce armed conflict and reintegrate into society.
