NTES joins Global Handwashing Day.

Each year on October 15, CDC works with global partners and colleagues to highlight Global Handwashing Day and raise awareness about the importance of handwashing with soap and water.

Why it's important?
Handwashing with soap and water is one of the simplest, most effective ways to stop the spread of germs and stay healthy. Keeping hands clean can help prevent diarrheal illnesses and respiratory infections, such as the common cold or flu.

Handwashing with soap and water is simple and inexpensive, and it can significantly reduce the number of young children who get sick.

The Department of Education (DepEd) maintains a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of bullying, whether committed within or outside school premises.

In line with the recent bullying in Tuba District, the Schools Division Office of Benguet is closely coordinating with the Local Government Unit, Philippine National Police, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and other concerned agencies to investigate and validate the details of the incident. The learners involved have been referred to the appropriate agencies, and collaborative interventions have been implemented.

We urge our school authorities and stakeholders, especially members of the community, to remain vigilant against any signs or suspected acts of bullying, and to report such incidents promptly to the appropriate authorities.

We respectfully appeal to the media and the community to refrain from actions that may aggravate the situation, as both the offended and the offender, like all learners - are entitled to protection under existing child protection policies.
