STCI and Ifugao Academy Libraries Partner to Boost Educational Services

The Saint Tonis College Inc. (STCI) Library Services Department recently extended technical assistance to the Ifugao Academy (IA) Library to support its ongoing administrative development. Faith Mizpah Jamandre, STCI High School Library Assistant, visited IA to lead the initiative. During the visit, IA personnel received an initial orientation on documenting library services to help establish structured guidelines for their library operations. This engagement marks the latest chapter in a decade-long partnership between the two schools. In 2014, STCI librarians Donalyn Calngan and Lailanie Buyuccan conducted the first on-site library collaboration at IA. Later, in 2021, the department hosted a virtual workshop titled "OUTCOMES. OUTREACH. OUTSTANDING: Libraries Beyond Boundaries." The pandemic-response training was facilitated by Divine Lovelle B. Liclic, the former Chief Librarian and current Director of Libraries, alongside Ms. Buyuccan, who also served as a facilitator to guide IA personnel on distance-learning reference systems and print material organization.

Championing the belief that education thrives through collaboration, STCI President Dr. Kathleen Rose L. Guimbatan and VP for Operations & Finance Wilbur Jose Balinsat were also at IA to participate in the continuing activities of the NHC Consortium. Joining fellow academic leaders in Kiangan, Ifugao, their visit underscored a shared commitment among consortium members to strengthen institutional partnerships, advance academic excellence, and share best practices in education.

A heartfelt thank you to Ms. AppleAnne Michelle Balnao Bartolome Apl D Apz for donating a collection of preloved books to the STCI Library on June 1, 2026.
The donation includes Christian literature, Mathematics, Nursing, and other academic resources that will surely benefit our students and library users. We are especially grateful that she personally visited the library to hand over these valuable materials.
The Christian books are a meaningful addition to our collection, providing resources that support spiritual growth, strengthen faith, and encourage Christian values among our readers. Together with the academic materials, these books will help enrich learning, nurture character, and serve as valuable resources for both intellectual and spiritual development within our academic community.
May these books continue to inspire a love for learning, deepen faith, and contribute to the holistic formation of our students and readers for years to come.

The initiative, featured in β€œFrom Loitering to Legacy: Pioneering a Low-Cost, High-Impact Framework for Rural Academic Enrichment,” ranked πŸ”πŸπ§π in the Cost-Benefit Management category, following its 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝟏𝟎 (𝟏𝟎𝐭𝐑 𝐩π₯𝐚𝐜𝐞) finish in π–π”π‘πˆ πŸπŸŽπŸπŸ“ under the B2: Empowerment-Based Management category.

It is one of three STCI entries recognized this year, alongside the 74th-ranked Project K.A.L.I.N.G.A. (SDG/ESG category) and the 90th-ranked Financial Impact-Driven Technology Transfer.

The Library Services Department expresses its sincere appreciation to everyone behind the storytelling project, especially the storytellers, as well as to the STCI WURI 2026 team for their commendable work.

The repeat recognition underscores how a long-running, low-cost library initiative can deliver sustained global impact.
