The City Local Government Unit of Tabuk (CLGU), through the initiative of City Mayor Darwin EstraΓ±ero, has acquired a new Toyota Tamaraw FX that has been converted into a cadaver transport vehicle to enhance the city's public service capabilities.
Mayor EstraΓ±ero said the previous cadaver transport vehicle had been in service for many years, even before he assumed office as city mayor. Despite its age, the vehicle had faithfully served not only residents of Tabuk but also families from neighboring municipalities.
Over the years, the old vehicle traveled to various parts of the country, including distant destinations such as Batangas Pier, to transport the remains of deceased residents back to their families.
The acquisition of the new vehicle is expected to strengthen the city's capacity to provide timely and reliable assistance to bereaved families. The upgraded transport unit also offers improved safety, comfort, and efficiency during long-distance trips.
The new vehicle was first utilized in the transport of the remains of the late Barangay New Tanglag Chairman Foster Dulawen, allowing the city government to extend its services in honoring a public servant who dedicated years of service to his community.
The purchase forms part of the city government's continuing efforts to improve public services and ensure that residents receive assistance during times of need.//Edward Joseph Gacuya
