Guilayon Coffee Growers Credit Cooperative strengthens Cooperative Governance

Earlier: The Guilayon Coffee Growers Credit Cooperative held its meeting to discuss key organizational and administrative matters, including the compliance of the cooperative, reports to be submittedband the appointment of an Acting Manager and the updating of authorized bank signatories.

The meeting was also joined by the City Cooperative Enterprise Development Office, which is providing technical assistance to the cooperative, and the Cooperative Managers Club of Tabuk City, which were also present during the meeting.

Following the result of the voting, the members unanimously approved the appointment of Mr. Gervacio Latugat as Acting Manager, effective immediately after the adjournment of the meeting.

The meeting also discussed other matters concerning the cooperative’s operations and management, reflecting the members’ commitment to strengthening good governance, accountability, and the effective delivery of services to its members. Furthermore, the cooperative recognizes the need to conduct a General Assembly for all members to ensure they are fully informed and aware of the cooperative’s new status. This assembly will also serve as an avenue to elect new officers and to deliberate on and approve the various plans and programs of the cooperative moving forward.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - The Philippine Chamber of Cooperatives, Inc. (Coop Chamber) today hailed the House of Representatives' approval on Third and Final Reading of House Bill No. 9584, the Revised Cooperative Code of the Philippines, calling it a "transformative milestone for the nation's grassroots economy."

The landmark measure modernizes legal structures, equipping Filipino cooperatives to compete, innovate, and weather economic shifts while remaining member-owned and community-driven.
