Gunit Abuyog stands in unwavering solidarity with the residents of MacArthur, Leyte in their collective resistance against the black sand mining operations of the MacArthur Iron Project Corporation (MIPC).

MacArthur is a former barangay of Abuyog, bound to us by shared history, kinship, and struggle—an injury to its land and people is an injury to our own.

Black sand mining ravages coastlines, disrupts marine ecosystems, and strips fisherfolk and coastal communities of their livelihoods—all for corporate profit.

This destructive extraction robs the youth of a sustainable future, driving displacement and deepening exploitation. We reject projects that sacrifice people and the environment for profit. We stand firm in defense of land, livelihood, and life.

Lumusong sa baha para mamigay ng relief goods, binash. Sumama sa mga kababayan sa clearing operations, tinawanan.

Pag-commute sa public bus. Kahit mga ordinaryo at makamasang ginagawa ni Leni, pinupuna ng mga kumakalaban.

Marahil nagdududa ka. Sa isip mo, baka ginagawa lang niya para sa politika.

Pero kung titingnan, bago pa man siya pumasok sa pulitika noong 2013, ilang dekada na siyang umaakyat ng bundok, sumasakay ng bangka, tumatawid ng ilog, naglalakad kasama ang masa.

Isang pro-bono lawyer para sa mga nasa laylayan, abogadong hindi tumatanggap ng bayad, ipinaglalaban sa korte ang mga magsasaka, mangingisda, kababaihan, kabataan, at mga sektor na walang kalaban-laban.

Kumbaga, likas na sa kanya ang pangmasang serbisyo. Hindi pa-scipted. Hindi na ito bago dahil consistent siya magtrabaho.

Kung nagdududa ka ngayon, marahil hindi siya ang problema. Marahil ikaw. Marahil tayo.

Nasanay kasi tayong ang politiko ay sinasamba,
ituring na hari at reyna, nakaupo sa pedestal, hindi lumulusong sa baha o naglilinis sa kalsada.

Na-culture shock ka lang na may public servant pala na hindi nagsasabing, “Linisan niyo yan, linisin niyo ito,” kundi angsinasabi ay, “Tara, maglinis tayo.”

Si Leni, hindi yung pulitikong nagpapatawag ng tao para palakpakan siya. Siya yung lider na tahimik na bumababa, nakikisama, nakikibuhat, nakikibaka.

Kung ang pagtulong niya ay tinatawag mong drama, baka hindi siya ang kailangang pagdudahan.Baka ang tanong ay: Kailan pa naging mali ang makibaka't makisama sa bayan?

NBI: UNCONFIRMED REPORTS SAY 'FUGITIVE' HARRY ROQUE HAS LEFT THE COUNTRY

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) disclosed on Tuesday, November 26, that it has received unverified information suggesting former presidential spokesperson and now fugitive Harry Roque has left the Philippines following an arrest order issued by the House of Representatives.

NBI Director Jaime Santiago made the statement after Vice President Sara Duterte implied during a late-night press conference on Saturday that Roque, a known Duterte ally, might have fled the country.

"Look at Secretary Harry Roque, ayaw umalis no'n sa bansa kasi 'yung mga anak niya maiiwanan. Pero look at him, umalis na lang," Duterte said.

When asked in a Super Radyo dzBB interview to confirm the report, Santiago responded, "May information po kaming ganyan pero hindi pa confirmed... Hindi na namin dapat i-discuss sa publiko. Pasensya na po."

Roque was cited in contempt and ordered detained by the House Quad Committee on September 13 for refusing to provide documents that would explain the significant growth in his wealth. The committee had sought clarification on the increase in his family's Biancham Holdings and Trading assets, which rose from ₱125,000 in 2014 to ₱3.125 million in 2015, and ₱67.7 million in 2018.

In response, Roque accused Congress of "power tripping" and denied any involvement in illegal activities tied to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs). He also maintained that he is not a fugitive.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) previously reported that it had not recorded any recent departures by Roque.
