Under the supervision of FCINSP DARREN P BACLEA-AN, City Fire Marshal of Tacloban City Fire Station, personnel of the station actively participated in the Barangayan held at Brgy. 110 Utap, Tacloban City.

The activity provided an opportunity to strengthen community engagement, promote fire safety awareness, and remind residents about the importance of fire prevention and preparedness.

As part of the activity, the Kwentot-Aral Project initiated by the City Fire Marshal was also highlighted, providing an avenue to engage and educate members of the community through meaningful learning and storytelling. The project aims to bring important lessons, including fire safety and preparedness, closer to the people in a simple, engaging, and community-centered way.

Through the Barangayan program and the Kwentot-Aral Project, the Bureau of Fire Protection continues to bring its services and advocacy closer to the community, fostering stronger partnerships toward a safer and more fire-resilient Tacloban City. πŸš’πŸ”₯

The Bureau of Fire Protection Region 8 participation, led by FSSUPT ELLAFIL A LIBARNES, DSC, with the Tacloban City Fire Station personnel headed by FCINSP DARREN P BACLEA-AN, City Fire Marshal, and FCINSP VIC LEONEL L MACASIL, Regional Operations Division Acting Chief and Special Rescue Force Chief, actively participated in the Regional Ceremonial Drill for the Nationwide Simultaneous School Safety for Active Attack Incidents held at Scandinavian National High School, Tacloban City.

The station’s Emergency Medical Service personnel were deployed on standby throughout the activity, ready to respond and provide immediate medical assistance in the event of an actual emergency.

The BFP also served as one of the evaluators of the drill, contributing to the assessment of the school's preparedness and response capabilities in addressing active attack incidents.

The activity highlighted the importance of inter-agency coordination, preparedness, and effective response in ensuring the safety and security of the school community. It served as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration among concerned stakeholders and enhance readiness in addressing active attack incidents and other emergencies within school premises.

Personnel of the Tacloban City Fire Station, together with personnel from the Regional Office, gathered at the Apparatus Area to participate in the First Wednesday Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Kelvin Apurillo.

Following the celebration of the Holy Mass, Rev. Fr. Kelvin Apurillo also gave a special blessing to the personnel celebrating their birthdays this month of September, offering prayers for good health, guidance, protection, and continued blessings in their lives and service.
