SNSHS Bumangon, Tinumba ang GRIS sa City Meet Volleyball Tournament

TACLOBAN CITY — Bumangon mula sa pagkabigo ang Sto. Niño Senior High School (SNSHS) matapos nitong gapiin ang Greendale Residences Integrated School (GRIS), 25-20, 25-18, sa Volleyball Tournament Girls Secondary Category ng City Meet 2026 kahapon, Agosto 9, sa Leyte Progressive High School.

Mula sa unang set, ipinamalas ng SNSHS ang matatag na depensa at agresibong opensiba upang maagaw ang momentum sa laban. Hindi nagpatinag ang koponan sa mga pagtatangka ng GRIS na makasabay, hanggang tuluyang maangkin ang unang set, 25-20.

Nagpatuloy ang magandang laro ng SNSHS sa ikalawang set. Sa halip na magbigay-daan sa paghabol ng kalaban, pinanatili ng koponan ang kanilang ritmo at disiplina sa bawat rally upang tuluyang isara ang laban sa 25-18.

Ang panalo ay nagsilbing mahalagang hakbang para sa SNSHS sa pagpapatuloy ng kanilang kampanya sa City Meet 2026. Sa kabila ng mabigat na simula, ipinakita ng koponan na ang bawat pagkatalo ay maaaring maging daan upang muling bumangon at lumaban.

Bitbit ang panibagong kumpiyansa, magpapatuloy ang pakikibaka ng SNSHS sa susunod nitong laro kontra North Hill Arbours Integrated School sa Sabado, Agosto 15.

Bago ang pagbangon kontra GRIS, unang nabigo ang SNSHS laban sa St. Therese Education Foundation of Tacloban Inc. (STEFTI), 25-18, 25-20, sa unang bahagi ng torneo. Sinundan ito ng isa pang pagkatalo kontra San Jose National High School (SJNHS), 25-17, 25-11.

Sa kabila ng dalawang kabiguan, hindi natinag ang SNSHS at sa halip ay bumawi sa pamamagitan ng matatag na paglalaro laban sa GRIS—patunay na ang laban ay hindi natatapos sa isang pagkatalo.

UNANG SALANG, UNANG PANALO: SNSHS, PINATAOB ANG CRMNHS, 60-40

TACLOBAN CITY — Matagumpay na sinimulan ng Sto. Niño Senior High School (SNSHS) ang kampanya nito sa basketball tournament ng District Learning Center 6 Sports Meet matapos nitong talunin ang Cirilo Roy Montejo National High School (CRMNHS), 60–40, ngayong Agosto 8, 2026, sa Leyte Progressive High School Gymnasium.

Maagang ipinakita ng SNSHS ang kanilang lakas sa unang quarter matapos magtala ng 25 puntos laban sa 5 puntos ng CRMNHS. Nagpatuloy ang kanilang momentum sa ikalawang quarter kung saan nadagdagan pa ang kalamangan sa 28–12, dahilan upang magkaroon sila ng 16-puntos na abante sa halftime.

Hindi nagpabaya ang SNSHS sa ikatlong quarter at lalo pang pinatatag ang kanilang kalamangan. Sa pagtatapos ng quarter, umabot sa 46–26 ang iskor pabor sa SNSHS.

Sa huling quarter, sinubukan ng CRMNHS na makahabol ngunit nanatiling matatag ang depensa at opensa ng SNSHS. Sa final buzzer, nagtapos ang laban sa 60–40, na nagbigay sa SNSHS ng unang panalo nito.

Dahil sa tagumpay, magpapatuloy ang Sto. Niño Senior High School sa susunod na bahagi ng basketball tournament, dala ang kumpiyansa at determinasyong makamit ang panibagong panalo sa District Learning Center 6 Sports Meet.

Sto. Niño Senior High School successfully conducted the AGAPE Symposium on Anti-Crime Prevention and Spiritual Development, a meaningful initiative designed to equip our learners with essential knowledge on crime prevention while nurturing their spiritual and moral values.

This inspiring program was initiated by Dr. Magdalena Pido-Navarro, Program Coordinator, whose commitment to holistic learner development made this event possible.
