Government agencies have mobilized psychosocial and mental health interventions for learners, school personnel, and families affected by the June 22 shooting incident at San Jose National High School (SJNHS) in Tacloban City.

In a statement, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said its social workers immediately coordinated with the Department of Education (DepEd), the Tacloban City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), and other concerned agencies to assess the situation and determine appropriate interventions for the affected school community.

DOST-PAGASA Marks TFAW 2026

As the nation observes Typhoon and Flood Awareness Week on June 14-20, 2026, DOST-PAGASA encourages all Filipinos to stay informed, prepared, and resilient against tropical cyclones, floods, and other weather-related hazards.

With this yearโ€™s theme, โ€œBagyo, Baha, Maghanda Tayo!โ€, DOST-PAGASA highlights the importance of science-based preparedness, early warning systems, and community action. Activities lined up include Kapit-Kaalaman Conversations, the MAAGAP Seminar on community-based preparedness, and various public information campaigns.

DOST-PAGASA also proudly launches the PANaHON mobileapp, a new platform that provides near real-time weather information, location-based alerts, tropical cyclone bulletins, rainfall and thunderstorm warnings, flood advisories, and weather forecasts, all accessible through mobile devices.
