BFP R8 JOINS 128TH PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY FLAG RAISING CEREMONY

Tacloban City – June 12, 2026 – Personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection Regional Office 8, under the leadership of FCSUPT ALDWIN M SALAZAR, DSC, gathered for a Flag Raising Ceremony in observance of the 128th Philippine Independence Day, commemorating the bravery, patriotism, and sacrifices of the Filipino heroes whose pursuit of freedom laid the foundation of the nation's independence.

The ceremony served as a solemn tribute to the country's rich history and a reminder of the enduring values of liberty, unity, and nationalism that continue to guide Filipinos in nation-building and public service.

Regional Chief of Staff, FSSUPT ELBERTO C MARQUESES JR., delivered a message emphasizing that the freedom enjoyed today was won through sacrifice, and that public servants can honor this legacy through selfless service, dedication, and commitment to duty.

As the nation celebrates this historic milestone, BFP Region 8 stands united with the Filipino people in honoring the past, embracing the present, and working together toward a safer, stronger, and more progressive Philippines.

BFP Region 8 Convenes PFT Tactical Committee Meeting

Tacloban City – June 11, 2026 – The Bureau of Fire Protection Region 8, under the guidance of Regional Director FCSUPT ALDWIN M SALAZAR, DSC, convened the members of the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) Tactical Committee from all provincial offices as well as Tacloban and Ormoc City Fire Stations for a coordination meeting.

The meeting was presided over by Acting Chief of the Regional Operations Division, FCINSP VIC LEONEL L MACASIL, with PFT Tactical Committee members and Acting Chief of the Regional Health Service (RHS), FSUPT JENNIFER JEAN C TOLOSA, joining virtually via Zoom.

Discussions centered on the proper and effective implementation of the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) for all BFP Region 8 personnel, emphasizing adherence to established policies and procedures to ensure a fair, accurate, and uniform assessment of physical fitness throughout the region.
