🛡️ QUICK SAFETY GUIDE
1. DURING THE SHAKING:
• Drop, Cover, and Hold On! Get under a sturdy table or desk.
• Stay Indoors: Do not rush outside while the ground is moving. Falling glass and debris are major risks.
• Away from Windows: Stay clear of glass, mirrors, and hanging objects.
2. IMMEDIATELY AFTER:
• Check for Injuries: Attend to yourself first, then help others if you are able.
• Evacuate Safely: If you are in a damaged building, use the stairs (never the elevator) and move to a wide-open area.
• Inspect Your Home: Check for gas leaks, water damage, or electrical issues. If you smell gas, open windows and leave immediately.
• Coastal Areas: If you are near the shore and felt strong shaking, move to higher ground immediately as a precaution, even if no formal tsunami warning has been issued yet.
3. STAY INFORMED:
• Monitor official updates from PHIVOLCS and your local government units (LGUs).
