The Department of Agriculture โ Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) in Eastern Visayas remained committed to improving the lives of marginalized farmers and fisherfolk through the continuous implementation of agricultural and livelihood interventions from 2023 to 2025.
Throughout the three-year implementation period, the region served a cumulative total of 2,791 beneficiaries. By the end of 2025, DA-SAAD Eastern Visayas surpassed its cumulative target of 2,520 beneficiaries by reaching 2,791 farmers and fisherfolk, achieving 111 percent of its target. This accomplishment reflected the regionโs effective implementation of program interventions and its sustained commitment to extending assistance to more underserved communities.
Beneficiary coverage steadily increased over the years. In 2023, the program recorded 1,654 cumulative beneficiaries. This expanded to 2,433 in 2024 as more agricultural and livelihood interventions were implemented across priority areas. By 2025, beneficiary coverage further increased to 2,791, exceeding the regionโs three-year target and demonstrating the continued expansion of program support to marginalized farming and fishing communities.
The implementation of agricultural production and livelihood interventions provided farmer and fisherfolk associations with improved access to resources, capacity-building activities, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. These initiatives contributed to increased productivity, strengthened local organizations, and enhanced the resilience of rural communities across Eastern Visayas.
Overall, DA-SAAD Eastern Visayas exceeded its beneficiary target through the sustained implementation of agricultural interventions and livelihood support, reinforcing the programโs commitment to promoting inclusive agricultural development and improving the welfare of farming and fishing communities.
