The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Leyte Provincial Office, through the Negosyo Centers of Calubian and San Isidro, successfully conducted the ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ ๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ at the New Municipal Town Hall Roofdeck in San Isidro, Leyte. The activity gathered 50 MSME participants from the municipalities of Calubian and San Isidro, equipping them with practical knowledge and digital skills to help their businesses thrive in today's digital economy.
The program formally commenced with the Opening Message of DTI Leyte Provincial Director Dr. Faustino V. Gayas, Jr., DMT, who underscored the importance of digital transformation in enhancing the competitiveness and resilience of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). He encouraged entrepreneurs to embrace digital technologies, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, and digital payment systems as strategic tools for expanding markets, improving operational efficiency, and sustaining business growth. Dr. Gayas likewise highlighted DTI Leyte's continuing digitalization initiatives through the Negosyo Centers, including capacity-building programs on digital marketing, e-commerce, business digitalization, financial technology, and the adoption of emerging technologies to prepare Leyteรฑo MSMEs for the evolving digital economy.
This was followed by the Message of Support of Ms. Ilyn V. Ladlad, Municipal Administrator of San Isidro, Leyte, representing Mayor Remedio B. Veloso. She conveyed the Mayor's appreciation to DTI Leyte and its partner agencies for bringing the training to the municipality, emphasizing the local government's commitment to supporting MSMEs through programs that foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital adoption. She encouraged participants to maximize the knowledge and skills gained from the training and apply these digital tools to strengthen their enterprises, improve productivity, and contribute to the municipality's local economic development.
Participants gained valuable insights from the session on Introduction to Business Digitalization and Content Creation Using AI, facilitated by Engr. Gracely Joseph Carson of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). During the session, participants explored practical AI tools and created marketing jingles for their own businesses using Gemini AI, enhancing their branding and promotional efforts.
They also learned about Navigating the eGovPH Ecosystem and Onboarding from Ms. Angel Rose Jorda, PDO II of DICT, who introduced the features and benefits of the eGovPH Super App and guided participants through the onboarding process.
The training further strengthened participants' awareness of Cybersecurity and Data Privacy for Small Businesses through Ms. Claire P. Fernandez, ITO II of DICT. Meanwhile, Social Media Marketing and E-commerce for MSMEs was discussed by Ms. Amanda Thea Dela Cruz, who shared practical strategies for expanding market reach through digital platforms. She also presented GCash's programs and services, highlighting how its secure, convenient, and innovative digital payment and financial solutions can help MSMEs improve business operations and accelerate growth.
The activity concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by Ms. Maria Karren Villarino, Sangguniang Bayan Secretary of San Isidro, Leyte.
