A mother’s love is found not only in grand sacrifices but also in the smallest moments: the gentle reminders to eat on time, the sleepless nights spent caring for a sick child, and the comforting words offered during difficult days. They became our first teachers and guiding lights, turning every challenge into a lesson with their unwavering care and resilience.

Madamo nga salamat, Nanay, Ma, Mama, Mom, Mommy, Momshie, Ina, Nay,lola, you are the heart of every home and the reason behind who we are today.

As the Philippines joins the global observance of Press Freedom Day, the celebration comes with a familiar tension: recognition on paper, yet continued risk in practice. While the Constitution guarantees freedom of the press, journalists on the ground continue to navigate a landscape marked by legal pressure, harassment, and persistent threats that challenge the very essence of independent reporting.

Each name etched in press freedom history reflects both loss and an enduring call for justice and protection for media workers.

As we mark this day, we are reminded that press freedom must not only be celebrated but actively defended in everyday practice. It calls on society to protect those who continue to report with integrity, despite fear and uncertainty.
