𝑷𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍: 𝑶𝒑𝒆𝒏 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Poblacion successfully conducted the 1st Pickleball Competition, open play category last August 8, 2026 at the Tacurong City Sports and Cultural Gymnasium in line with the celebration of the Linggo ng Kabataan year 2026 with the theme: Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.

The activity was joined by youths of Barangay Poblacion and among the players, the top 6 were awarded a medal and certificate. Top 3 received a medal, certificate and a cash prize.

Meeting with Youth Presidents/ Purok Representatives was conducted in preparation for the Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 celebration with the Theme: Different Contexts, Common Aspirations. Hon. Angel Assunta Salome, Head Committee on Socio-cultural Presented the proposed activities and Plans for the celebration, the meeting was presided by Hon. Estelle Sustiguer, SK Chairperson. Discussions were made and suggestions were considered for the finalization of the activities.

Memorandum of agreement with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office for the PROJECT CASITA; A Trash to School Supplies Project initiated by the Sangguniang Kabataan ng Barangay Poblacion, The CENRO donated supplies for the project and in return the SK will initiated a program to gather plastic bottles, cups, and Sando Bags from the youth in exchange for school supplies.

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Poblacion, Tacurong City successfully conducted the Youth Training on Leadership and Good Governance with the theme “Step Up: Building & Nurturing Competent Leaders of the Future” on June 30, 2026, at the 2nd Floor Session Hall, Barangay Poblacion.

The training provided our young participants with valuable insights and practical knowledge on effective leadership, responsible governance, decision-making, accountability, and meaningful youth participation. ✨

A heartfelt thank you to our resource speaker, LYDO Officer Ma’am Maria Cristina D. Daguinotan, for sharing her expertise, experiences, and inspiring words that empowered our youth to become more confident and capable future leaders. 🙌

Because the leaders of tomorrow are being shaped today. 💪🌱

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Poblacion, Tacurong City successfully wrapped up our IEC Campaign on S*x Education: Effects of Engaging in Unprotected In*******se and the Risk of Transmission of STDs last June 13, 2026, at the Purok 9 Dumper Gymnasium. 🩺📚

From important facts to real conversations, our youth participants gained valuable insights about responsible choices, protection, family planning, and taking care of their sexual health. 💯

2ND KATIPUNAN NG KABATAAN GENERAL ASSEMBLY 💙

The 2nd General Assembly of the Katipunan ng Kabataan (KK) of Barangay Poblacion, Tacurong City was successfully conducted earlier this day August 22, 2026, with the activity graced by Punong Barangay Hon. Jonathan R. Salazar, City Councilor Hon. Jose Beng Lim, SK Federation President Hon. Jessriel Franch B. Ariz, and City Youth Development Office (CYDO) Representative, Sir Earl John Mercado.

The assembly commenced at 9:00 AM, when the Presiding Officer declared the presence of a quorum, with more than 210 KK members in attendance, allowing the assembly to formally proceed with the discussion and deliberation of the following matters:

📌 AGENDA DISCUSSED
• Presentation of the Accomplishment Report
• Presentation and approval of KK Resolution No. 2 – Resolution Approving the Terminal Accomplishment Report
• Presentation of the status of ongoing and completed activities
• Presentation of the Budget Report, Fund Utilization, and Liquidation
• Presentation of the Inventory Report
• Discussion of Issues and Concerns to be considered in the formulation of the CBYDP 2027–2029
• Open Forum for questions, suggestions, and concerns from the KK members

A significant part of the assembly was the approval of KK Resolution No. 2, reflecting the KK's participation in reviewing and formally recognizing the accomplishments and activities undertaken for the youth.

The presence and active participation of more than 210 KK members demonstrate that meaningful youth governance begins when young people are given the opportunity to be informed, heard, and involved in decision-making.

Our sincere appreciation to our distinguished guests, purok youth leaders, SPES grantees, Volunteers, KK members, and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of this assembly.

A stronger Katipunan ng Kabataan begins with a youth that shows up, speaks up, and takes part. 💙🤝
