LOOK// 50 Beneficiaries Receive Wheelchairs During Turnover Program in Tacurong City

TACURONG CITY, Sultan Kudarat — Fifty beneficiaries received wheelchairs during the Wheelchair Turnover Program held at the Tacurong Sports and Cultural Center on 29 May 2026 through the collaborative efforts of various humanitarian organizations and partners institutions.

The wheelchairs were generously donated by the Rotary Club of Gingoog Bay, Rotary Club of Tacurong, Unite for Good Foundation, Chair the Love Foundation, and the Wheelchair Foundation as part of their ongoing commitment to supporting persons with mobility challenges and improving their quality of life.

Among the 50 beneficiaries were four retired mounted warriors from the Armor Division and Special Forces, recognized for their dedicated service and sacrifices in the line of duty. The activity highlighted the spirit of compassion, volunteerism, and partnership among civic organizations and the security sector in providing meaningful assistance to communities and individuals in need.

Brigadier General Omar V. Orozco PA expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all partner organizations and donors for their generosity and unwavering support for the beneficiaries.

“This initiative is a manifestation of genuine concern and unity in helping our fellow Filipinos, especially our retired warriors and persons with mobility challenges. We are truly grateful to all organizations that made this noble undertaking possible,” BGEN Orozco said.

The successful conduct of the program brought hope and renewed confidence to the beneficiaries and their families, reaffirming the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing inclusive community welfare and humanitarian service.

The Provincial Government advises all residents of Sultan Kudarat to take necessary precautionary measures following the DOST-PAGASA General Flood Advisory for Region 12.

Due to expected light to moderate rains and thunderstorms, rivers and tributaries, particularly Tian and Kraan, may experience rising water levels.

Residents living in low-lying areas, near riverbanks, and mountain slopes are strongly advised to remain vigilant and be prepared for possible flash floods.

Please continue to monitor official advisories from PAGASA, MDRRMO, and local authorities.

𝗣𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗔 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘| The Sultan Kudarat Province – Region 12 delegation continues to bring pride and honor in the ongoing Palarong Pambansa 2026 in Agusan del Sur after securing impressive victories in Arnis events.

The team captured gold medals in Synchronized Espada y Daga and Synchronized Doble Baston, while also earning silver medals in Synchronized Espada y Daga and Individual Doble Baston. Additional podium finishes included bronze medals in Individual Espada y Daga and Synchronized Doble Baston, along with a silver-bronze finish in Individual Espada y Daga.

These achievements reflect the athletes’ discipline, determination, and commitment to excellence as they proudly represent Sultan Kudarat and the entire SOCCSKSARGEN Region on the national stage. The province celebrates this strong showing as the delegation continues its quest for more victories in the competition.

🔥 “SIR, NANDIYAN NA SI MA’AM!” ANG BABAE NA HINDI INIWAN ANG KANYANG TROPA SA GITNA NG IMPYERNO 🔥
June 25, 2008 alas-6 ng umaga.
Sa liblib na bahagi ng Maitum, Sarangani, biglang niyanig ng pagsabog ang katahimikan.
Dalawang Simba armored vehicles at isang M35 truck ang walang habas na inambush.
Walang warning. Walang awa.
Apat na RPG ang sabay-sabay pinakawalan.
Kasunod nito matinding ulan ng bala mula sa mataas na pwesto ng kalaban.
Mistulang bitag.
Sa loob ng dalawang oras, nakikipaglaban ang mga sundalo habang limitado ang galaw ng kanilang armor sa makitid na daan. Bawat segundo pwede silang mabura.
Ngunit sa gitna ng kaguluhan, may isang lider na paparating.
Hindi siya umatras.
Hindi siya nagtago.
Siya si Captain Virginia Ang.
Habang nasa headquarters at ginagampanan ang kanyang tungkulin bilang Commanding Officer, dumating ang balita—
“Na-ambush ang tropa.”
At sa isang iglap, kumilos siya.
Habang binabagtas ang mahirap na daan papuntang Maitum, putol-putol ang signal. Hindi malinaw ang buong sitwasyon. Pero isang bagay lang ang malinaw sa kanya
KAILANGAN SIYA NG KANYANG MGA TAUHAN.
Pagdating sa Barangay Puting Bato, agad siyang nag-establish ng radio contact.
At nang marinig ng mga sundalo ang kanyang boses
Parang nabuhay muli ang kanilang pag-asa.
“Sir… nandiyan na si Ma’am!”
Sa gitna ng putukan at kawalan ng kasiguraduhan, ang simpleng presensya niya ang naging sandigan ng buong tropa.
Pero hindi doon nagtapos.
Pumasok siya mismo sa battle zone.
Ang kalaban ay nasa mataas na posisyon. Naka-entrench. May RPG. May sniper. Habang ang kanilang armor ay halos hindi makagalaw.
Pero ang utos niya
“FORWARD.”
Hindi dahil wala siyang takot.
Kundi dahil mas mahalaga sa kanya ang buhay ng kanyang mga sundalo kaysa sa sarili niyang kaligtasan.
Atras.
Abante.
Atras muli.
Habang umaalingawngaw sa radyo ang sigaw na:
“MA’AM, MAY RPG!”
Pero hindi bumigay si Captain Ang.
Habang ang .50 caliber ng armor ay walang tigil sa suppressive fire, tahimik namang umakyat ang DRC sa gilid ng bundok. Isang delikadong galaw na naging susi sa tagumpay.
At nang maagaw nila ang mataas na pwesto
Nabasag ang depensa ng kalaban.
Nakitang nagsitakbo.
Tumawid sa tulay.
Nagkanya-kanyang takas.
PANALO.
Pero kahit kaya na nilang gumanti, ibang desisyon ang pinili ni Captain Ang.
Hindi paghihiganti.
Kundi PAGLILIGTAS.
May mga sibilyan. May mga bata. May matatanda na ginawang bihag sa paaralan.
At muli, pinatunayan niya kung anong klaseng lider siya.
Hindi lang mandirigma.
Kundi tagapagtanggol.
Dumating ang suporta mula sa Air Force, artillery, at iba’t ibang yunit. Ngunit ayon sa mga sundalong naroon, ang naging puso ng operasyon ay ang matatag na liderato ni Captain Ang.
Maghapon ang bakbakan.
Walang kain.
Kaunting tubig.
Walang kasiguraduhan kung sino pa ang mabubuhay.
Pero walang umatras.
Dahil iisa lang ang nasa isip ng bawat sundalo
“Kasama namin ang aming CO.”
Sa gitna ng sniper fire, bumaba siya sa sasakyan. Lumapit sa kanyang mga tauhan. Nagbigay ng utos. Nakinig sa suhestyon. Sumuong sa panganib kasama nila.
Hindi lang siya opisyal.
Isa siyang tunay na mandirigma.
At higit sa lahat
Isa siyang INA sa kanyang tropa.
Ito ang kwento ni Captain Virginia Ang simbolo ng tapang, sakripisyo, at lideratong handang ialay ang lahat para sa kanyang mga tauhan at para sa bayan. 🇵🇭🔥

LOOK// Successful Turnover of Loose Fi****ms in Municipality of Lambayong.

In a commendable display of cooperation and commitment to peace and security, the Barangay Captains in the Municipality of Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat voluntarily turned over loose fi****ms to 1st Mechanized Infantry (MAAASAHAN) Brigade under the leadership of Brigade Commander, BGEN OMAR V OROZCO PA through the efforts of 2nd Mechanized Infantry (MAKASAG) Battalion led by LTC RAUL P ESCAT ARM (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer.

The turned-over loose fi****ms include the following:

• four (4) M1 Garand Rifles caliber .30;
• five (5) caliber .30 rifle with magazine;
• one (1) fabricated Rocket Propelled Gr***de (RPG) Launcher with one (1) Cartridge (HEAP) projectile;
• six (6) fabricated Barrett Rifle caliber .50;
• one (1) Ultimax 100 Light Machine Gun (LMG);
• two (2) Rifles M14; and
• three (3) M16A1 Rifle.

The voluntary surrender of these fi****ms is a significant step towards promoting peace and ensuring the safety of the community. It is a testament to the collective effort of the residents and local authorities in combating illegal and loose fi****ms in upholding the rule of law.

BGEN OROZCO commended Hon. Francis Eric Recinto, Municipal Mayor of Lambayong, and the barangay captains and the local government for their proactive role in fi****ms control, recognizing the importance of community cooperation in sustaining counterinsurgency and peacekeeping efforts in the area.
