We are honored and privileged to welcome 𝗛𝗢𝗡. Gov. Datu Pax Ali S. Mangudadatu, our very own Provincial Governor of Sultan Kudarat, as our Guest of Honor and Speaker for the Linggo ng Kabataan 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗨𝗡𝗚𝗢𝗚 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗚𝗔𝗕𝗜 𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗟!

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙛 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙨𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙞𝙜𝙜𝙚𝙧?

For Day 3 of 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗴𝗼 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the youth of Barangay Baras gathered not just to listen, but to learn, participate, and take home something they could actually grow. 💚

Held on August 15, 2026, at the Barangay Baras Gymnasium, the Symposium on Backyard Gardening and Proper Waste Disposal brought together young people to explore practical and sustainable ways of caring for their homes, surroundings, and community. 🌿♻️

The activity opened with a message from Hon. Melan Joy Kilayco, who welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of involving the youth in initiatives that promote a healthier and more sustainable community. Meanwhile, Hon. Arabella Celetaria served as the event emcee, guiding the participants throughout the program.

🌱 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗬𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚
Participants learned how simple gardening practices can contribute to food production, greener surroundings, and more sustainable households. From planting seeds to nurturing them into something useful, the session showed that you don't need a huge space to start growing.

♻️ 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥 𝗪𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗔𝗟
The discussion also emphasized the importance of being responsible with the waste we produce. Proper segregation, disposal, and everyday environmental practices may seem like small things, but when practiced consistently by many people, they can make a significant difference in the community.

🎒 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡, 𝗪𝗘 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗗.
To turn learning into action, seed packets were distributed to the participants, giving them the opportunity to start their own backyard gardening journey. The hope is that these seeds will eventually grow, not only into plants, but into habits of responsibility, sustainability, and care for the environment.

The SK Barangay Baras extends its sincere appreciation to our resource speaker, 𝗠𝗮’𝗮𝗺 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗹 𝗚𝗲𝗰𝗮, 𝗥𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶, for sharing her knowledge and expertise with our young participants. We are equally grateful to everyone who helped make this activity possible and meaningful.

Because Linggo ng Kabataan is more than just a celebration. It is an opportunity to equip young people with knowledge, inspire them to participate, and empower them to become part of the solution.

Different Contexts, Common Aspirations. Different experiences. Different perspectives. But a common goal: a healthier, cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Barangay Baras.

As part of LNK 2026, the 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘀 successfully conducted the 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 on 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, at 𝗔𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗦. 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹.

Our heartfelt thanks to 𝗦𝗶𝗿 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗣. 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗼, our Resource Speaker, for sharing meaningful insights on the importance of mental well-being in student life. Through his engaging discussion and interesting activities, our young participants were given the opportunity to reflect, interact, and better understand the value of taking care of their mental wellness while navigating the challenges of student life.

The symposium was then synthesized and debriefed by 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹 𝗝𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗕. 𝗦𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮, helping participants connect the lessons and realizations from the session to their everyday experiences as young people and future leaders.

𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪? The celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan is mandated under Republic Act No. 10742, or the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015, which provides for the annual observance of Linggo ng Kabataan as a celebration of the youth and their active participation in community affairs.

This year, we celebrate with the theme: “𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝘀, 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.” One week of many activities and countless memories. This isn’t just another event, 𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙎 𝙄𝙎 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙒𝙀𝙀𝙆. So get ready to participate, compete, connect, have fun, and create memories with your fellow Barasnon Youths!
