Dear Ms. Cla Rens, as much as Tacurong Governent wanted to put you on Home Quarantine eh hindi po pupwede. Hindi yung puro tayo reklamo as if malaki yung naiambag natin sa kanila. Salamat. 🤬

LGU Tacurong to build its own fuel depot

In a bid to centralize spending and to save money by buying fuel in bulk, the Local Government Unit of Tacurong City will build and operate its own depot or on-site fuel storage.

Situated beside the city’s Integrated Public Terminal, the 800- square meter depot will house two storage tanks with a capacity of 24,000 liters for diesel and 16,000 liters for gasoline.

The project, with P2 million budget, will be slated for bidding once the City Engineering Office finishes the program of works.

Mayor Angelo ā€˜Roncal’ Montilla decided to put up a depot purposely to centralize the utilization of fuel budget, thus ensuring efficiency in monitoring and control on fuel consumption of vehicles.

ā€œAside from centralizing the release of fuel consumption of each office, our local government unit will surely save on public funds since we will be buying fuel in bulk and at lower pricesā€, Montilla said.

The mayor said that by having a strategically situated on-site storage facility, offices can save time and energy in going to off-site fuel stations, thus making the depot a highly efficient option.

According to City Budget Officer Imelda Pamplona, the LGU is spending around P12 million every year for fuel, oil, and lubricants of LGU-owned vehicles. The budget also includes fuel consumption of vehicles of allied government agencies such as the PNP, AFP, and the Bureau of Fire.

City General Services Officer Tomas Robles said that right now, the city has a total of 55 four-wheeled vehicles and heavy equipment. It has also 105 motorcycles

Mayor Montilla expects that the fuel depot will be beneficial to the LGU, especially on the efficient use of government resources.

ā€œAmid this health crisis that results to lower tax collection on the part of the LGU, we need to be efficient on budget spending so that we can allocate more funds to our development projects. This fuel depot is expected to serve the purposeā€, Montilla said. (ASFreno, LGU Information)
