📢 AVAIL THE ONE-TIME TAX ABATEMENT PROGRAM (RR No. 4-2026)

A chance to settle your tax liabilities. A step toward better tax compliance!

Eligible micro taxpayers may take advantage of the BIR One-Time Tax Abatement Program and settle qualified tax liabilities with the relief provided under the program.

Here’s what you need to know:

✅ Who Qualifies: Micro taxpayers with less than ₱3 million in annual gross sales and ₱80,000 or less in covered basic tax or penalties per taxable year.

💰 Abatement Fee: Only ₱5,000, payable through BIR Form No. 0605.

📅 Deadline: Applications may be filed until December 31, 2026.

BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza led the recognition of 205 outstanding officials, employees, teams, and offices during the Special Awards Ceremony held on August 1, 2026, at the BIR National Office, as part of the Bureau’s 122nd Founding Anniversary celebration with the theme “Husay at Dangal ng Lingkod-Bayan ng BIR.”

𝗕𝗜𝗥, 𝗣𝗠𝗙𝗧𝗖 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗨𝗦𝗦 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗧 𝗖𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗘

BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza met with representatives of Philip Morris Fortune To***co Corporation (PMFTC) on August 5, 2026, to discuss measures to strengthen enforcement against the illicit cigarette trade and untaxed to***co products, including strengthened inspection procedures for imported and exported ci******es.

PMFTC presented the results of its internal Pack Survey, which indicated a decline in illicit cigarette trade, and cited increased field operations by enforcement agencies, including the BIR, Bureau of Customs (BOC), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and Philippine National Police (PNP).

The discussion also covered strengthened inspection procedures for imported and exported ci******es.

Representing the BIR were Large Taxpayers Service Assistant Commissioner Edgar B. Tolentino; LTS-Excise Head Revenue Executive Assistant Atty. Dondanon A. Galera; and Atty. Erica Mabel B. Sarmiento of the Office of the Commissioner.

PMFTC was represented by Atty. Chita Herce, Director of Corporate Affairs; Atty. Noel De Luna, Director for Affairs; Atty. Alain Baguisi, Director for Illicit Trade Prevention; and Atty. Aldrick Rubin, Senior Manager for Illicit Trade Prevention.

The meeting forms part of the BIR’s continuing engagement with industry stakeholders in protecting government revenues and strengthening enforcement against illicit trade.

Sa episode na ito, ibinahagi ni BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza kay DZRH anchor Cesar Chavez, sa kanilang panayam noong Agosto 8, 2026, ang mga tax relief measures na ipinatutupad ng Bureau.

Una ay ang one-time tax abatement na maaaring i-avail ng mga kwalipikadong microtaxpayer hanggang Disyembre 31, 2026. Pangalawa ay ang pinalawig na listahan ng VAT-exempt na mahahalagang gamot, na umabot na sa 2,277 gamot para sa cancer, diabetes, hypertension, at kidney disease.

Binigyang-diin ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa kaniyang State of the Nation Address ang mga tax relief measures na nagbibigay-ginhawa sa mga taxpayer. Sa ilalim ng kaniyang pamumuno, at katuwang si Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go, patuloy na isinusulong ng BIR ang pagbubuwis na patas, may malasakit, at nakasentro sa kapakanan ng taxpayer.
