Gearing Towards TransformEd ALS- Mountain Province
Ma’am Sally Banaken-Ullalim, MPSDO Superintendent together with Ms. Loida Ellaine G. Tibong, Division ITO officer graced the 4 days training of ALS- Teachers on Open Educational Resources and Learning Management System at Sagada Pension House on June 13, 2022. The activity was participated by 44 ALS- Teachers, EPSA’s and ALS Focal Person. Maam Sally inspired the ALS-Teachers as she reiterated the importance of information which is readily available at these modern times. Further, she challenged the ALS Implementers to work towards result-based activities. Thus, she added that the activity should be able to produce outputs. She discussed the Portfolio Validation process conducted by the EPSA and ALS- Implementers. She encouraged the teachers to do a good profiling of their learners so that they can come up with a complete and quality compilation of the evidences that the learners have acquired competencies to live and survive. There were agreements that were discussed on portfolio validation, DTR’s, monthly individual accomplishment reports and individual career and professional agreement of teachers.
Ma’am Sally have inspired the ALS Teachers to put their hearts in everything they do. She said “if only you have the heart for your learners, your heart will dictate what you should do”. As teachers we should ask ourselves how far have we helped our learners, how far have we guided them in making their lives better. It is indeed with the assistance of the teachers where learners learn. The more failure on the part of the learners only mean incompetence on the part of the teachers.
Ma’am Loida Ellaine G. Tibong, also gave her piece on ICT concerns and her encouragement on the ongoing activity on the cascading of OER and LMS. She thanked the support of the SDO management on the implementation of the ALS Program. She gave emphasis on the number of laptops issued to the ALS- Teachers and the training opportunities provided just like that of the teachers from the formal school. She also encouraged the ALS Teachers to submit their reports online pointing out its benefits. Further, she encouraged the ALS Teachers to work towards TransformEd ALS Mountain Province.
