𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte, under the leadership of Governor Robert Lyndon S. Barbers and Vice Governor Geed Gokiangkee, successfully conducted the 𝗞𝗔𝗣𝗜𝗧𝗢𝗟𝗬𝗢 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗕𝗜𝗦𝗬𝗢 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 in the Municipality of Tagana-an.

The activity brought essential government services closer to the people, providing medical assistance, social services, and various public programs aimed at improving the well-being of every Tagana-anon through accessible and responsive governance.

In support of this initiative, the Municipality of Tagana-an, headed by Mayor Cesar Ian B. Diaz and Vice Mayor Cesar B. Diaz, Jr., also concluded its observance of the 2026 National Disaster Resilience Month, highlighting the collective efforts of the local government and its partners in building a safer and more resilient community.

Shown in these photos are the newly organized DRRM Response Units and personnel of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) serving warm comfort meals to participants, exemplifying the spirit of public service and community care.

As we conclude this year's National Disaster Resilience Month celebration, may this initiative serve as a reminder that resilience is strengthened through collaboration, preparedness, and compassionate service. In celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Tagana-an conducted a series of Information and Education Campaigns (IEC) on different dates, reaching various sectors of the community, including Senior High School students of Tagana-an National High School (TNHS), Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and Barangay Officials.

Each session focused on increasing awareness of disaster preparedness, prevention and mitigation, emergency response, and resilience, while addressing the important role that every sector plays in reducing disaster risks. Through these activities, participants gained valuable knowledge and practical guidance to help safeguard themselves, their families, and their respective communities.

By conducting these IECs across different sectors, the Municipality of Tagana-an reaffirms its commitment to fostering an informed, prepared, and resilient community, where everyone has a role in building a safer future and no one is left behind.

In line with the celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026, with the theme "𝙉𝙖𝙜𝙝𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖 𝙖𝙩 𝙆𝙪𝙢𝙞𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙤𝙨 𝙏𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙤 𝙨𝙖 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙜 𝙣𝙖 𝘽𝙖𝙜𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙨", the Municipality of Tagana-an, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and Office (MDRRMC/O), successfully conducted a 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐔𝐩 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 in collaboration with the Municipal Official and Employees, BFP, PNP, PCG, DepEd, OSCA, SK Federation, and other community stakeholders.

More than simply collecting waste, this activity demonstrated our collective commitment to protecting our coastal environment, reducing disaster risks, and promoting environmental responsibility. Clean coastlines help keep waterways free from obstructions, reduce flood hazards, protect marine biodiversity, and create a healthier and safer community for everyone.

Every bag of trash collected, every helping hand extended, and every participant who volunteered their time reflects the true spirit of resilience, where preparedness begins with caring for our environment and working together for the common good.

The Municipality of Tagana-an extends its sincere gratitude to all participating offices, agencies, organizations, volunteers, and community members whose dedication and teamwork made this activity a success.

The Municipality of Tagana-an, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), successfully conducted the Run for Resilience 2026, bringing together officials and employees of the Municipal Government, the Sangguniang Bayan, Liga ng mga Barangay (Barangay Captains), Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, Women's Association, Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Held in celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026, this activity promoted not only health and wellness but also strengthened solidarity, preparedness, and the shared commitment of our community toward disaster resilience. Guided by this year's theme, “𝑵𝒂𝒈𝒉𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒂 𝒂𝒕 𝑲𝒖𝒎𝒊𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒐𝒔 𝑻𝒖𝒏𝒈𝒐 𝒔𝒂 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒈 𝒏𝒂 𝑩𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒔,” every stride symbolized our collective responsibility to build a safer, stronger, and more resilient Tagana-an.

✅ Coastal Clean-Up Drive – Working together to protect our coastal environment and promote environmental stewardship.

RAISING OF BLUE ALERT STATUS AND ACTIVATION OF THE INCIDENT MANAGEMENT TEAM (IMT) 🚨🚨

In preparation for the 79th Araw Nan Tagana-an Celebration, the Tagana-an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has been placed under Blue Alert Status, with the activation of the Incident Management Team (IMT) to ensure coordinated monitoring, preparedness, and timely response throughout the duration of the event.

This proactive measure strengthens inter-agency coordination and enhances the municipality’s capability to address potential emergencies, ensuring the safety and security of all residents, visitors, and participants.
