The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), through the Center for Culture and Arts Development (CCAD), in partnership with the National Museum of the Philippines–Bohol, officially opened Pabuhagay Tres: Padayon sa Pag-usbong on June 14, 2026, showcasing the creative works of 15 q***r Boholano artists as part of the province’s Pride Month celebration.

Now in its third year, the exhibition highlights the theme β€œPadayon sa Pag-usbong” (Continuing to Grow), reflecting the ongoing journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and artistic expression within the LGBTQIA+ community. The exhibit serves as a platform for artists to share their identities, stories, and perspectives while promoting inclusivity through the arts.

Representing Governor Aris Aumentado, Vice Governor Nick Besas reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive society and empowering diverse sectors through meaningful platforms for expression and engagement.

Organized in partnership with the Bohol Pop Contemporary Visual Artists Group, the exhibit forms part of the Sandugo sa Bohol 2026 festivities and will run until July 4, 2026.

The initiative aligns with the PGBh’s Strategic Change Agenda on Cultural Heritage, promoting inclusive spaces that celebrate artistic excellence, cultural diversity, and creative expression among Boholanos in the province, a UNESCO Global Geopark.

JOBSTART BENEFICIARIES COMPLETE SOFT/CORE SKILLS

A total of 95 young Boholanos moved one step closer to employment readiness as beneficiaries of the Soft/Core Skills Training (SCST) 2026 were recognized during a ceremony held on June 13 at the Ceremonial Hall of the New Capitol.

Implemented by the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), through the Bohol Employment and Placement Office–Public Employment Service Office (BEPO-PESO) in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment–Bohol Field Office (DOLE-BFO), the training equips JobStart beneficiaries with essential workplace skills and values needed to succeed in their future careers.

Representing Governor Aris Aumentado, Supervising Administrative Officer Metodio Maraguinot Jr. encouraged the beneficiaries to believe in themselves and seize opportunities, emphasizing that empowering individuals through skills development remains key to overcoming poverty and achieving success.

Beneficiaries also shared how the program helped build their confidence, strengthen their values, and prepare them for the realities of the workplace, expressing gratitude to the provincial government, DOLE, and BEPO-PESO for investing in the youth across Bohol, a UNESCO Global Geopark.

The recognition ceremony celebrated the completion of the training by 95 participants and highlighted the continued commitment of government agencies to equip young jobseekers with the competencies needed to thrive in today's workforce.

The initiative supports the PGBh’s Strategic Change Agenda, particularly its focus on Social Equity and Human Development, by preparing young Boholanos for meaningful employment and lifelong growth.

Jona Ladaga for securing the Silver Medal in the 800-Meter Run (U20 Women), and Ma. Emely Balunan for earning the Silver Medal in the 800-Meter Run (U20 Women) during the ICTSI Philippine Athletics Championships 2026, held from June 10 to 14, 2026, at the New Clark City Athletics Stadium.

The Provincial Government of Bohol joins the global observance of World Blood Donor Day, paying tribute to voluntary, unpaid blood donors whose generosity continues to save millions of lives worldwide. The observance highlights the importance of safe and sufficient blood supply in supporting patients during emergencies, surgeries, childbirth, cancer treatment, and the management of chronic illnesses.

In celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day, the Provincial Government of Bohol joined the nationwide observance through a wreath-laying ceremony and commemorative program at the Bohol Provincial Capitol on June 12, 2026.

Carrying the theme β€œKalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan,” this year’s celebration underscored the enduring significance of Philippine independence and the responsibility of every Filipino to uphold the values of freedom while helping shape the nation’s future.

Representing the Provincial Government of Bohol Acting Governor Nick Besas led the wreath-laying ceremony together with Acting Vice Governor Tita Baja, Provincial Legal Officer Handel Lagunay, and representatives of Congressman Baba Yap, Mayor Jane Yap, Congresswoman Maria Vanessa Aumentado, and Congresswoman Alexie Besas-Tutor. Representatives from national government agencies, veterans’ organizations, and civic groups also joined the observance.

A flag-raising ceremony and a ceremonial 21-gun salute were held during the observance, honoring the country’s heroes whose courage and patriotism made Philippine independence possible.

The Provincial Government of Bohol joins the global observance of the World Day Against Child Labour, reaffirming its commitment to protecting the rights, welfare, and future of every child. The observance highlights the urgent need to end child labour and ensure that children have access to education, protection, and opportunities for healthy development.

This year’s campaign, β€œRed Card to Child Labour: Fair Play for Children, Decent Work for Adults,” calls for stronger action to address the root causes of child labour through quality education, universal social protection, decent employment opportunities for adults, effective law enforcement, and responsible business practices. It also underscores the importance of translating global commitments into meaningful action that safeguards children from exploitation and hazardous work.

PGBh reaffirms its commitment to supporting child protection initiatives, promoting access to education, and strengthening partnerships that uphold the rights and well-being of children across the province.
