The City Government of Tagbilaran, under the leadership of Mayor Jane Yap, through the Tagbilaran City Environmental Management Office (TCEMO), invites all sectors of the community to join in celebrating National Zero Waste Month, with the theme: "RA 9003 @25: Honoring our Past, Renewing Commitments, Innovating for a Cleaner Tomorrow".
This year marks the 25th year since the enactment of Republic Act (RA) No. 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, which establishes the country’s systematic, comprehensive, and ecological solid waste management program.
In observing Zero Waste Month, the government emphasizes the importance of individual responsibility in managing waste with time, effort, and action—through proper waste segregation at the source, avoiding single-use plastics, reusing materials, and promoting composting to reduce waste and enhance community cleanliness. Through collective action and investment in Zero Waste solutions, we can accelerate positive impacts and ensure a peaceful, green, and healthy future for generations to come.
