OOA 111500H October 2025, with esteemed privilege, the University of Bohol Reserve Officers Training Corps Unit visited the United Nations Association of the Philippines office in Bohol with a personal invitation from BGEN JOSEPH G SEVILLA AFP (RET), the current President of United Nations Association of the Philippines โ€“ Visayas located at CPG North Avenue, Cogon, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

The visit was personally guided by BGEN JOSEPH G SEVILLA AFP (RET) where he discussed to the UBROTCU advance cadet officers and cadet officer applicants about the rich history of his military journey from being an advance cadet officer to being a commissioned officer in the AFP. With so much enthusiasm, the one-star general offered a quick tour around the museum-like office where his medals and honors were placed, and many military tools and equipment were kept.

The bond between BGEN Sevilla and the University of Bohol ROTC Unit has already been long established for years as he was the former commandant of the unit for more than 5 years from 01 March 1982 โ€“ 01 September 1986 and 01 October 1986 โ€“ 15 May 1987 wherein his was still ranked Major, the longest to take sit since year 1948.

With utmost respect, the UB ROTC Unit wants to extend how grateful the unit was for BGEN JOSEPH G SEVILLA AFP (RET) for his invitation and tour around the UNAP office in Bohol. His enthusiasm to share the history of his prime years, his meaningful insights and dedication to his military career have given the UBROTCU advance cadet officers and cadet officer applicants inspiration to continue to train with purpose, humility, and grit.

OOA 110730H October 2025, the University of Bohol Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit (UBROTCU) successfully conducted 5th Military Instruction at the Camp Bernido Dao Dist. Tagbilaran City, Bohol. The activity was led by LTC EDUARDO D MALIG-ON INF (GSC) PA (RES), Commandant, together with Training Officer 2LT EDUARDO L MAGNANAW PA (RES); Tactical Officer 2LT ELIZVER P SEGOVIA PA (RES); Tactical NCOs Sgt George Supat PA (Res) Sgt Geovil Graphy G Garsuta PA (Res); Four (4) Graduate Military Assistant, Pvt Reymark G Llamado PA (Res), Pvt Renance E Lomonsod PA (Res), Pvt Cherry May B Pahuyo PA (Res) Pvt Johnray J Magdua PA (Res); and Five (5) Advance ROTC Officers.

Cadets and cadettes formed up at 0700H for accounting of troops, followed by the discussion at 0730H. The dayโ€™s session focused on the key military topic Weapons Training, led by Sgt Joseph Christian Ramos (Inf) PA.

After the lecture, the cadets proceeded to a practical exercise on the assembly and disassembly of the M16 rifle. Under the supervision of their instructors, they were taught the proper procedures for handling, maintaining, and ensuring the safety of their weapon.

This hands-on activity helped the cadets develop discipline, precision, and familiarity with the rifle โ€” essential skills for every future reservist. The exercise also emphasized the importance of responsible weapon handling, reinforcing the values of safety, respect for authority, and adherence to military standards.

OOA 271300H September 2025, the University of Bohol Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit (UBROTCU) successfully conducted 4th Military Instruction at the University of Bohol. The activity was led by LTC EDUARDO D MALIG-ON INF (GSC) PA (RES), Commandant, together with Training Officer 2LT ELIZVER P SEGOVIA PA (RES); two (2) Tactical NCOs Sgt Marven B Jumawid PA (Res) and Sgt Ivonny V Amistad PA (Res); two (2) GMAs: Sgt Geovil Graphy G Garsuta PA (Res) and Pvt Renance E Lomonsod PA (Res); and six (6) Advance ROTC Officers.

At 1300H, cadets and cadettes formed for accounting and drill practice and at 1330H, the classroom instruction started. The afternoonโ€™s discussions focused on key military topics: Hygiene and Sanitation, Cyber Security Awareness, Basic Life Support, and Survival Techniques.

The lecture focused on essential life skills that promote safety, health, and preparedness in various situations. It began with Hygiene and Sanitation, stressing the importance of proper cleanliness to prevent diseases and maintain overall well-being. Cyber Security Awareness followed, teaching cadets how to protect their personal information online and defend against digital threats. The session also covered Basic Life Support, introducing vital emergency procedures such as CPR and first-response techniques. Lastly, Survival Techniques equipped cadets with practical strategies for staying safe and resourceful in challenging or hostile environments. Together, these subjects strengthened both physical and digital resilience.

The activity ended at 1700H without incident, leaving cadets equipped with vital knowledge on hygiene, cyber security, basic life support, and survival.

The activity was led by LTC EDUARDO D MALIG-ON INF (GSC) PA (RES), Commandant, together with Training Officer 2LT ELIZVER P SEGOVIA PA (RES); two (2) Tactical NCOs MSg Marcos F Castro (Inf) PA (Res) and Sgt Marven B Jumawid PA (Res); one (1) GMAs: Sgt Geovil Graphy G Garsuta PA (Res); and six (6) Advance ROTC Officers.

Cadets and cadettes formed up at 0630H for accounting and drill practice, followed by classroom instruction at 0730H. The dayโ€™s discussions focused on key military topics: Philippine Military History, IED Awareness, Introduction of Infantry Operations, and Fundamental of Infantry Operations.

The lecture introduced cadets to key military foundations, beginning with Philippine Military History to instill pride in the nationโ€™s heroic legacy. IED Awareness highlighted safety and vigilance against explosive threats. The session then covered the basics and fundamentals of Infantry Operations, focusing on unit roles, movement techniques, and essential battlefield tactics. Together, these topics aimed to build discipline, awareness, and operational readiness.

The activity ended at 11300H with no untoward incidents, leaving cadets with essential insights on militaryโ€™s history, improvised explosive device awareness, and infantry operations.

LOOK || UB ROTC joins the 40th International Coastal Clean-up

On 200530H-0730H September 2025, the University of Bohol ROTC Unit participated in the 40th International Coastal Clean-up (ICC) Day along the coastal area of Tagbilaran City, in compliance with the Governorโ€™s directive and the global campaign against marine pollution.

The unit assembled at 0530H for briefing, and the clean-up started at 0600H, simultaneous with other groups across Bohol. Present were LTC EDUARDO D MALIG-ON INF (GSC) PA (RES), Commandant UB ROTC, 2LT EDUARDO L MAGNANAW PA (RES), Tactical Officer, (2) GMAs, and (3) Advance ROTC Cadet Officers.

The activity highlighted youth involvement in environmental protection and concluded at 0730H with collected waste turned over to BPEMO. The cadets of UB ROTC once again demonstrated discipline, teamwork, and commitment to environmental stewardshipโ€”proving their vital role in community service and nation-building.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š || ๐“๐ก๐ž UBROTCU participated in Tree Growing Activity Program.

OOA 180430H September 2025. The University of Bohol ROTC Unit Advance Cadet Officers successfully participated in the Tree Growing Activity held on September 18, 2025. The assembly started at 0430H at the Loboc JAD Complex, and participants proceeded to the designated tree planting site in Jimilian, Loboc, Bohol.

The activity was supervised by LTC EDUARDO D. MALIG-ON INF (GSC) PA (RES). Commandant UB ROTCU, together with the support of the Civil Service Commission, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the Local Government of Loboc, and other partner agencies.

During the activity, the advance cadet officers of the University of Bohol ROTC Unit actively took part in the planting of tree seedlings in the designated area. The cadets demonstrated discipline, teamwork, and a strong commitment to environmental protection and community service.

The activity concluded at 0730H with no untoward incidents reported, making the program a success.

This initiative not only contributed to environmental sustainability but also served as a meaningful avenue for the cadets to embody the ROTC values of service, responsibility, and volunteerism.

The activity was led by LTC EDUARDO D MALIG-ON INF (GSC) PA (RES), Commandant, together with Training Officer 2LT EDUARDO L MAGNANAW PA (RES); Tactical NCO Sgt Marven B Jumawid PA (Res); three (3) GMAs: Sgt Geovil Graphy G Garsuta PA (Res), Pvt Renance E Lomonsod PA (Res), and Pvt Cherry May B Pahuyo PA (Res); and six (6) Advance ROTC Officers.

Cadets and cadettes formed up at 0630H for accounting and drill practice, followed by classroom instruction at 0730H. The dayโ€™s discussions focused on key military topics: the Rule of Law, Standard Conduct of a Filipino Soldier, Followership, and Military Customs and Traditions.

The lectures emphasized the importance of lawful service, discipline, and integrity. Cadets gained a deeper understanding of how every soldier must uphold the law, maintain proper conduct, and respect the chain of command. The importance of followership as a foundation of leadership was highlighted, along with customs and traditions that reinforce military identity and unity.

The activity ended at 1200H with no untoward incidents, leaving cadets with essential insights on military discipline, professionalism, and the proud heritage of the Armed Forces.

OOA 130630H September 2025, in compliance with the directive for the culmination of the 46th National Reservist Week Celebration, the University of Bohol ROTC Unit conducted and participated in the Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony at the UB Grounds, Tagbilaran City.

This nationwide activity was anchored on the main ceremony held at GHQ, AFP, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, with SND Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. as Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS). ROTC units across the country were directed to participate either physically at designated venues or within their respective institutions.

The UB ROTC Unit assembled at 0630H for troop accounting and preparation. The ceremony commenced at 0700H, in synchrony with other participating units, reflecting unity and discipline within the reserve force. In attendance were 2LT EDUARDO L MAGNANAW PA (RES), tactical officer, two (2) GMAs, and six (6) advance ROTC officers.

The activity highlighted the importance of patriotism, discipline, and the vital role of reservists in national service. The event ended at 0730H with no untoward incidents.

The University of Bohol ROTC Unit remains steadfast in its commitment to the AFPโ€™s mission and continues to support programs that promote nation-building through disciplined and service-oriented citizenry.

At 0700H, cadets and cadettes formed up for accounting and basic drill practice, then proceeded to the classroom at 0730H. The dayโ€™s discussions covered AFP Mandate, Mission, Functions and Organization, Code of Citizenship, Values and Development, and the AFP Core Values.

The lecture on the AFP Mandate deepened the cadetsโ€™ understanding of military hierarchy and discipline, while the Code of Citizenship reminded them of their role in nation-building through patriotism, loyalty, and respect for authority. Values and Development emphasized integrity, responsibility, and self-discipline, while the AFP Core Valuesโ€”Honor, Loyalty, Valor, Duty, and Solidarityโ€”were highlighted as the guiding principles of service.

The activity ended at 1200H with no untoward incidents, leaving cadets with meaningful lessons on citizenship, discipline, and the values of true service to the nation.
