The Tagbilaran City Central SPED Center proudly celebrated the 50th birthday of Teacher Melody Uy Ligan, a former educator of the school whose unwavering commitment to the welfare of learners continues to inspire despite the distance. Now based in the United States, Teacher Melody chose to commemorate this significant milestone by giving back to the school community that helped shape her journey in public education. Her thoughtful initiative reflects the enduring spirit of service, compassion, and shared responsibility in nurturing every learner, particularly those with special educational needs.

As part of her birthday celebration, Teacher Melody generously sponsored a Jollibee party featuring the beloved Jollibee mascot and provided Jolly Meals for all learners and teachers of the Tagbilaran City Central SPED Center. The activity created a joyful and inclusive learning environment where every child felt valued, celebrated, and loved. Although she could not be physically present, she joined the celebration through a live Messenger video call, allowing her to personally interact with the learners and faculty members. Her virtual presence further demonstrated that genuine care and dedication to education transcend geographical boundaries.

This meaningful celebration exemplifies the essence of DepEd's commitment to inclusive, learner-centered education by strengthening partnerships between schools and stakeholders who share the vision of ensuring that no learner is left behind. Teacher Melody's generosity serves as a testament to the lasting impact that educators can make beyond the classroom and highlights the importance of fostering a culture of volunteerism, compassion, and community engagement in support of quality education.

The Tagbilaran City Central SPED Center family expresses its deepest gratitude to Teacher Melody Uy Ligan for her continued love and generosity. May her life continue to be blessed with good health, abundant grace, and many more opportunities to touch the lives of learners through acts of kindness and selfless service.

For four meaningful years since its launch in 2023, the "Bigas Mo, Sagot Ko" Outreach Project has exemplified the transformative power of compassion, faith, and shared responsibility in advancing inclusive education. Through the unwavering generosity of the Sto. Niño de Cebu Devotees of North America and the Filipino-American Community of the Shrine Church of St. Jude under Dr. Joie Club coordinatorship, the project has continuously provided rice assistance and unwavering support to the learners of the Tagbilaran City Central SPED Center and the Tagbilaran High School for the Hearing Impaired.

As the outreach project celebrates its fourth year, it stands as a shining testament to the enduring partnership between faith-based organizations, overseas Filipino communities, and the Department of Education in promoting the welfare and holistic development of learners with special educational needs. It reflects the true essence of bayanihan where compassion transcends borders and collective action creates meaningful and lasting impact. Every sack of rice distributed symbolizes not only nourishment for the body but also encouragement for learners to pursue their dreams with confidence and dignity. Through initiatives such as "Bigas Mo, Sagot Ko," we are reminded that when communities unite in service, they become powerful catalysts for educational equity, social inclusion, and hope. Together, we continue to build a future where every learner is valued, empowered, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.
