✔️ Approved on First Reading proposed provincial One Town One Product (OTOP) ordinance (sponsored by Board Member Fernando Estavilla)

✔️ Calendared for second reading proposed amendments to the provincial ordinance on conversion of roads as recommended by the Committee on Public Works, Highways and Related Infrastructure (in a report by Board Member Nathaniel Binlod)

✔️ Authorized an agreement between the Provincial Government of Bohol and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) on the data turnover of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) of the PSA

✔️ Authorized an agreement between the Provincial Government of Bohol and Czech K-9 unit to foster cooperation, technical exchange and knowledge sharing on K-9 operationsto strengthen public safety, law enforcement support, and disaster response (as reported by Board Member Dionisio Joseph Balite for the Committee on Peace and Order and Public Safety with the Committee on Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Management)

✔️ Approved resolution expressing support for the request of the Bohol Provincial Jail to transfer the management and supervision of provincial and sub-provincial jails to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (as reported by Board Member Nathaniel Binlod for the Committee on Peace and Order and Public Safety)

✔️ Approved a resolution requesting DOLE for fuel subsidy assistance for habal-habal drivers (sponsored by Board Member Nathaniel Binlod)

✔️ Report by the Committee on Review of Municipal Ordinances and Related Issuances (Board Member Joahna Cabalit- Initay)

Several measures focused on inclusive governance, local economic development, and public safety were tackled during the regular session of the 30th Sangguniang Panlalawigan held on May 12, 2026.

Senior Board Member Tita Baja presided over the session, with Board Member Dionisio Joseph Balite serving as Floor Leader.

Among the highlights was the approval on third and final reading of Provincial Ordinance No. 2026-009 or the Revised Gender and Development Code of Bohol. The measure, authored and sponsored by Board Member Tita Baja, seeks to enhance gender-responsive programs and strengthen policies promoting equality and inclusivity in the province.

Also present during the session was GAD Alternate Chair, Anne Mariquit Derikito-Oppus, JD,PhD.

The SP also approved on first reading the proposed One Town One Product (OTOP) Ordinance sponsored by Board Member Fernando Estavilla, which aims to support locally made products and encourage the growth of community-based enterprises.

Proposed amendments to the provincial ordinance on road conversion were likewise moved to second reading following recommendations from the Committee on Public Works, Highways and Related Infrastructure.

To improve planning and policy implementation through accurate data, the body authorized an agreement between the Provincial Government of Bohol and the Philippine Statistics Authority for the turnover of Community-Based Monitoring System data.

The SP also approved an agreement between the Provincial Government and the Czech K-9 Unit to strengthen cooperation and technical exchange in K-9 operations for public safety, law enforcement assistance, and disaster response efforts.

Meanwhile, the body expressed support for the request of the Bohol Provincial Jail to transfer the supervision and management of provincial and sub-provincial jails to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology. A separate resolution requesting fuel subsidy assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment for habal-habal drivers was also approved.

The session further included the report of the Committee on Review of Municipal Ordinances and Related Issuances.

These actions reflect the Sangguniang Panlalawigan’s continuing efforts to strengthen local governance, improve public services, and support programs that benefit communities across Bohol.
