The Police Regional Office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region strongly and unequivocally denounces the armed attack against law enforcement operatives during the service of a warrant of arrest on May 4, 2026, in Barangay Catogonan, Buadi-Puso Buntong, Lanao del Sur, which resulted in the death of one (1) personnel from the 45th Special Action Company, 4th Special Action Battalion, PNP-SAF, and injuries to four (4) others from the Provincial Special Operations Group, LDSPPO, and the 45th Special Action Company, 4th Special Action Battalion, PNP-SAF.
The operation was being conducted to serve a warrant of arrest for Attempted Murder against Sukair Diongkat, Alex Acraman Diongcat alias βKulong,β and Paiz Diongcat alias βPaiβ when the suspects allegedly opened fire upon arrival of the serving team, resulting in an exchange of gunfire.
This blatant act of violence and disregard for the rule of law against personnel performing their lawful duty is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. PRO BAR has immediately launched intensified manhunt and dragnet operations to ensure the swift arrest of the fleeing suspects. All necessary measures are being undertaken to bring the perpetrators to justice and hold them fully accountable.
We urge the public to remain vigilant and support law enforcement efforts. PRO BAR remains firmly committed to upholding peace, order, and justice, and the Philippine National Police will continue to serve and protect the public with unwavering resolve.
