This Indigenous Peoples Month, let us remember that our roots are not something we left behind. They are what keep us standing. Before the roads, the borders, and the names on maps, our ancestors already knew our lands by heart.

To be proud of our roots is to carry that memory forward. It is to speak our language without shame, to wear our heritage with dignity, and to protect the land that has always protected us. We are not remnants of the past. We are its living continuation.

September 28, 2026 | NCIP Tagudin CSC Facilitates Selection of Barangay IPMR
Suagayan, Quirino, Ilocos Sur

The NCIP Tagudin Community Service Center (CSC) facilitated the Selection of the Barangay Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR)in Suagayan, Quirino, Ilocos Sur.

The activity was attended by members of the Indigenous Peoples Selection Body (IPSB), barangay officials, and community members.

Mr. Alejandro D. Mana-a, the sole nominee, was selected through a standing at his back with the IPSB members expressing their support for his selection. He will serve the unexpired term as Barangay IPMR of now Municipal IPMR Mr. Florencio Salibad. Following the selection, Mr. Mana-a was formally proclaimed as the new Barangay IPMR.

The Barangay Captain and Municipal IPMR also conveyed their messages of support for the continued implementation of NCIP programs and services for the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples.

Ang ating tungkulin ay isang 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮: higit pa sa pag-iingat sa pamanang iniwan ng ating mga ninuno, pananagutan nating maipasa ito sa susunod na salinlahi nang napangalagaan at higit na pinatatag. Ang mga desisyong ginagawa natin ngayon ang siyang huhubog sa kinabukasang kanilang mamanahin.

𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐋 𝐃𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐈𝐍

On September 23, 2026, the staff of the NCIP-Tagudin Community Service Center, headed by Ms. Erlinda E. Fernandez, CSC Head/CDO III, together with the NCIP-Ilocos Sur Provincial Office, through the leadership of Atty. Marvin C. Biligan, Provincial Officer, conducted a Provincial Delineation Team (PDT) Meeting to review and discuss the draft PDT Report on the Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title (CADT) application of Cervantes, Ilocos Sur.

The team went over the documents, data and findings gathered throughout the delineation process, discussed the remaining gaps, and identified the corrections and additional requirements to be addressed as part of the ongoing work toward the finalization of the report. This process is an important step toward the recognition of the ancestral domain claim of the ICCs/IPs of Cervantes under R.A. 8371 (IPRA of 1997).

The NCIP-Ilocos Sur Provincial Office and the NCIP-Tagudin Community Service Center warmly congratulate Ms. Nikki B. Vasquez, RN and Ms. Regina C. Tongawan, RN, EAP grantees, for successfully passing the Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination (PNLE)!

Your achievement is a testament to your hard work, perseverance, dedication, and commitment to your dreams. More than earning the title of Registered Nurse, you have also shown that our Indigenous youth can excel, break barriers, and reach their aspirations while carrying with pride the identity and heritage of their ancestors.

May your success inspire other Indigenous Peoples, especially the younger generation, to pursue education, believe in their potential, and never forget where they came from.

Always remember to wear your Indigenous identity with pride. Let your roots remind you where you came from, and let your dreams show the world where you are going.
