The Taguig City Nutrition Office and City Nutrition Council, together with the Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) and the National Nutrition Council โ€“ National Capital Region (NNC-NCR), conducted the annual Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation Protocol (MELLPI Pro) on Wednesday, April 22, at Function Room 2 of the New Taguig City Hall in Barangay Ususan.

Evaluators reviewed the cityโ€™s implementation of nutrition programs and services, focusing on child and community welfare. The team also presented findings and recommendations to local nutrition focal points during the session led by RNET members.

Mayor Lani Cayetano attended the activity and cited the cityโ€™s gains, including the lowest stunting rate in Metro Manila among children aged 0 to 5 at 0.20 percent:

โ€œA big part of the success is your constant monitoring of us. Every year, we challenge ourselves to meet your standards and go beyond what is expected of local governments. I hope you are proud of the city you mentor, because we are seeing the results of our collective efforts.โ€

Taguig has earned recognition for its nutrition programs, including the CROWN Awards Hall of Fame, Nutrition Honor Award, Green Banner Award, and the Distinguished Award for Advancing Inclusive Nutrition Programs.
