Benchmarking Activity📚

On July 18, 2025, the Dr. Tomas P. Abello Library conducted a benchmarking activity at the UST Miguel de Benavides Library and the FEU Library.

Benchmarking is a process of comparing and evaluating best practices, library systems, and services from leading institutions to identify areas for improvement and innovation in one’s own organization.

The activity was participated in by Vicente B. Lintag, EdD, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs; Marites Simeon, MLIS, OIC- High School Library; Frances Raine Cruz, LPT, Library Clerk; with the full support of the TRC Research Department, who dedicated their time and effort.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the University of Santo Tomas and Far Eastern University for the warm welcome and generous accommodation. Thank you for the informative library tours, briefings on library systems, and for sharing your expertise in preservation, conservation, digitization of collections, and various library services. The knowledge and insights gained from this benchmarking activity will greatly contribute to the continuous improvement of the Tomas P. Abello College Library.

Simeon, MLIS - OIC of the High School Library from Tomas del Rosario College attended the seminar and book fair during the 26th Philippine Academic Book Fair with the theme "Knowledge, Innovation, and Excellence: ABAP Advancing Libraries in a Changing World," organized by the Academic Booksellers Association of the Philippines on July 2, 2025, at Megatrade Hall 1, SM Megamall, EDSA, Mandaluyong City.
