Look: The Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC), through the Human Resource Staff for Civil Relations Service (HR-7), initiated an engagement with POCARI SWEAT Philippines to explore potential areas of collaboration in support of personnel wellness, sports and fitness activities, disaster response, and other future programs of the Philippine Coast Guard held today, 02 September 2026 aboard Yeoman Classroom, Headquarters Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command.

The engagement was initiated by ENS JERELYN FAITH L SALIBIO PCG, Deputy Chief, Human Resource Staff for Civil Relations Service, and led by CAPT CHERRYL D BOBLO PCG, Chief of Staff, CGHRMC who presided over the meeting. The initiative forms part of CGHRMC's continuing efforts to establish meaningful partnerships with private-sector organizations that can contribute to the welfare, development, and readiness of Coast Guard personnel.

Also present during the meeting were LCDR LYNETTE FAYE DS NADELA PCG, Deputy Director, Personnel Management Center, LT SAN JUAN PCG, Commander, HSG-CGHRMC, LTJG MADRONA PCG, DC of HRS for Operations CGHRMC, ENS BERNARDO PCG, DC of TS for Admin and Personnel, HRMS.

The engagement marks an initial step toward a sustained and mutually beneficial partnership between CGHRMC and POCARI SWEAT Philippines, with both parties looking forward to developing future initiatives that will benefit Coast Guard personnel and contribute to the fulfillment of the PCG's mandate.

Look: VADM ALLEN J DALANGIN PCG, Acting Commander, Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC), formally took his oath as one of the newly promoted Flag Officers of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) before His Excellency President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during the Oath-Taking Ceremony held on 01 September 2026 at the Heroes Hall, Malacañang Palace, Manila.

The President further reminded the newly promoted Flag Officers of the weight of the rank they now carry and the responsibility it entails toward the Filipino people.

“This rank that you carry is a responsibility that impacts every Filipino, especially those who depend on the sea. If there is one thing that this day reminds us, it is that courage is built long before the moment that it is tested." President Marcos said.

He likewise called upon the newly promoted Flag Officers to lead with courage and integrity, emphasizing that their leadership must remain firmly anchored on the people they serve and the nation they are sworn to protect.

The higher rank entrusted to VICE ADMIRAL DALANGIN PCG further carries the obligation to uphold the highest standards of military leadership, integrity, accountability, discipline, and professionalism, while ensuring that human resource policies and initiatives remain responsive to the operational requirements and strategic objectives of the Philippine Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC) joins the entire nation in observing Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) this September 2026, under the theme:

“Nagkakaisang Kapuluan, Panatag na Karagatan.”

Observed every September, MANA Mo is a national observance that seeks to strengthen public awareness and appreciation of the Philippines as an archipelagic and maritime nation—a country whose identity, security, economy, culture, and way of life are deeply connected to the sea.

As an archipelagic nation composed of thousands of islands and surrounded by vast maritime spaces, the Philippines’ seas serve as vital avenues for transportation, trade, livelihood, tourism, environmental protection, and national security. MANA Mo provides an opportunity to recognize the importance of our maritime domain and encourage every Filipino to become more aware of their role in protecting and preserving it.

For the Philippine Coast Guard, this observance carries a deeper significance. It reinforces our commitment to safeguarding our maritime spaces, protecting our marine environment, ensuring the safety of life at sea, and promoting maritime awareness among the Filipino people.

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤: In commemoration of National Heroes Day Celebration, The Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC) in partnership with the Megaworld Corporation, joined the nation in honoring the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of Filipino heroes through simultaneous activities held at Newport City, Pasay City, and Arcovia City, Pasig City on 31 August 2026.

The participation of the Philippine Coast Guard personnel in the celebration formed part of the Command’s augmentation efforts for the National Heroes Day observance, providing support to the activities while strengthening cooperation between the PCG and the private sector.

The activity highlighted CGHRMC and Megaworld Corporation’s active commitment to fostering patriotism, promoting love of country, and cultivating respect and appreciation for the men and women who dedicated their lives in service to the Filipino people. Through this collaborative participation, it demonstrated that honoring the nation's heroes is a shared responsibility that extends beyond government institutions and into the communities and organizations that form part of the Filipino nation.

The presence and participation of PCG personnel likewise underscored the importance of civil-military coordination and integration in advancing activities that promote national consciousness, public service, and community partnership. Such collaboration provides an avenue for government and private institutions to work together in meaningful initiatives that strengthen the connection between public servants and the communities they serve.

The Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC), through the Human Resource Management School (HRMS) and Office of the ADC of HRS for Education and Training, HR-12, successfully held a Turnover Ceremony on 28 August 2026 at the CGHRMC Yeoman Classroom, New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.

The ceremony marked the official relief and assumption of responsibilities of PO2 Marie Kris M Eruela PCG as outgoing CMAA, HRMS and as newly installed CMAA, HR-12, alongside the relinquishment of PO3 Aida O Boridor PCG as CMAA, HR-12, and the installation of CPO Loue Joemar C Anico PCG as the new Chief Master-at-Arms of the Human Resource Management School. Celebrating years of dedication, growth, and institutional legacy, the event was presided over by LCDR APRILLE JOY T DELMO PCG, Superintendent of the Human Resource Management School.

In her message, the Superintendent reflected on the humble beginnings of the school and office of HR-12 since 2021 and praised the outgoing leaders for building a strong foundation of discipline, professionalism, and teamwork. She emphasized that leadership is measured not only by what is accomplished during one's tenure, but also by the legacy and systems left behind for successors.
The event underscored the continuous transformation of the Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command's administrative core and the enduring commitment of its personnel to institutional excellence.

The ceremony highlighted a seamless transition of responsibilities, ensuring that the Human Resource Management School and Office of the ADC of HRS for Education and Training, HR-12 remain steadfast in their mission to shape competent personnel, elevate instructional standards, and advance the core competencies of the CGHRMC workforce.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC) conducted a two-day Risk Management Training on 24–25 August 2026, followed by a 5S Training on 26 August 2026, as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen the implementation and continual improvement of its ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) in preparation for the upcoming 1st Surveillance Audit.

The training was facilitated by Engr. Renato Alvarado and Ms. Aileen Ricohermoso and was attended by CGHRMC officers and non-officers. Participants actively engaged in lectures, discussions, workshops, and practical activities designed to enhance their knowledge and application of risk management and workplace organization principles within the Command.

These capacity-building activities form part of CGHRMC’s continuing efforts to enhance the effectiveness of its QMS, strengthen organizational processes, and ensure the readiness of its personnel and documented information for the upcoming 1st Surveillance Audit.

Through these initiatives, CGHRMC continues to foster a quality-driven, risk-aware, organized, and disciplined workforce, thereby reinforcing its commitment to delivering efficient, responsive, and effective human resource management services in support of the mission of the Philippine Coast Guard.

The Philippine Coast Guard through the Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC), and Human Resource Procurement Center (HRPC), conducted a benchmarking activity with the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) to exchange insights and best practices on the development and utilization of online recruitment platforms, on August 27, 2026 at Balai-Maringal Hall, PMA, Fort Del Pilar, Baguio City.

The activity commenced with a courtesy call to the Acting Chief of Staff, PMA, Captain John Ronald A Mangahas PN (GSC). This was followed by discussions on the respective recruitment processes of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and PMA, including the benchmarking of the PCG’s Recruitment Online Application Platform (ROAP) and the sharing of insights on online recruitment system development.

The activity supports the strengthened recruitment partnership between the PCG and PMA under DND–DOTr Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1, Series of 2025, which provides the unified guidelines for the allocation of PMA graduates to the Philippine Coast Guard.

In line with the Bagong Pilipinas agenda, the initiative promotes responsive governance, digital innovation, and stronger interagency collaboration in developing systems that deliver more accessible and efficient public service. It also provided an avenue for the CGHRMC-HRPC and PMA to exchange insights and best practices on online recruitment, particularly on the development and utilization of the PCG Recruitment Online Application Platform (ROAP) in support of the existing PMA-PCG recruitment mechanism.

The exchange of insights underscored the importance of interagency coordination and innovation in strengthening officer recruitment and development. Through the adoption of relevant best practices and the continued use of technology, the PCG aims to enhance the accessibility, efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness of its recruitment processes in support of the Bagong Pilipinas.
Through initiatives such as this, the PCG remains committed to developing competent, qualified, and mission-ready Coast Guard officers capable of responding to the evolving demands of maritime safety, maritime security, marine environmental protection, and national defense.

The Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC), through the Personnel Management Center (PMC), conducted a courtesy visit and coordination meeting with The Master’s Theological Seminary International (TMTSI) on 20 August 2026 to explore potential areas of collaboration in support of the mental health, morale and welfare, values formation, and overall well-being of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel.

During the meeting, Bishop Allan L. Lopez, President and Program Director of the TMTSI Center for Corporate Counseling, presented an overview of the institution and highlighted its 26 years of commitment to theological and religious education, leadership development, counseling, values formation, and community engagement. He likewise presented the programs of the Center for Corporate Counseling, which focus on mental health awareness, psychosocial resilience, workplace well-being, ethical leadership, stress and burnout prevention, peer support, spiritual wellness, and emotional management.

The discussions identified several potential areas for collaboration, particularly in spiritual wellness, values and character formation, ethical leadership, stress and burnout prevention, peer support awareness, and family and community resilience. Bishop Celso M. San Jose, Chairperson of TMTSI, emphasized that the institution advocates spiritual wellness regardless of an individual's religious affiliation, denomination, or faith tradition, while respecting personal beliefs and diversity.

A significant development during the coordination was the proposal to develop a diploma program which seeks to provide participants with relevant knowledge and competencies in mental health counseling and psychosocial support, and may serve as an avenue for further professional development and appropriate certification, subject to existing professional and regulatory requirements.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing their commitment to sustain the coordination and further explore the establishment of a formal partnership between the PCG and TMTSI.

The initiative underscores the PCG's continuing commitment to strengthening its mental health, morale and welfare, spiritual wellness, and personnel development programs through strategic partnerships and collaborative initiatives. These efforts are geared toward fostering resilient, values-driven, psychologically prepared, and mission-ready Coast Guard personnel capable of effectively fulfilling their mandate in service to the Filipino people.

The Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC), through the Human Resource Management School (HRMS), successfully concluded the Human Resource Management Basic Course (HRMBC) Class 09-2026, on 20 August 2026 aboard CGHRMC Yeoman Classroom, New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.

The activity was presided over by the Deputy Commander, CGHRMC, COMMO CHRISTINE PAULINE BERGAÑO PCG, who underscored that the continuing transformation of the Philippine Coast Guard is driven by its people and their willingness to embrace innovation and improvement. She highlighted the PCG’s evolution from a lighthouse agency into a multi-mission organization with an increasingly significant role in nation-building, maritime stability, and international maritime governance.

COMMO BERGAÑO encouraged personnel, regardless of rank or position, to go beyond identifying problems and instead contribute practical solutions toward organizational improvement. She likewise emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards, strengthening leadership and management practices, and recognizing the human dimension of managing personnel.

The 36 completers, composed of CGHRMC Non-Officers and Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP), completed ten (10) modules covering the Command’s Core and Support Functions. ASW Aires B. Loshiangco 031041 PCG ranked Top 1 with an overall grade of 94.45% and received the Certificate of Distinction for obtaining no grade below 85% in all subjects.

In her class impression, ASW Loshiangco emphasized that Human Resource Management goes beyond paperwork and administrative processes, it is fundamentally about people, their welfare, and their contribution to the Philippine Coast Guard mission. She encouraged her fellow graduates to continuously learn, improve, and never settle for “PWEDE NA" attitude towards the service, but instead go beyond what's best for everyone's welfare stressing that effective Human Resource Management is essential to a strong and mission-ready Coast Guard.

The successful conduct of the said course was made possible with the unending guidance of the Acting Commander, CGHRMC, VADM ALLEN J DALANGIN PCG with the close supervision of the by the Superintendent Human Resource Management School, LCDR APRILLE JOY T DELMO PCG together with the DC of HRS for Education and Training, HR-12, LTJG REYVINSON A DE LA CRUZ PCG. Likewise, the course was properly executed through the support, dedication, and hard work of the Training Directorate, headed by the Course Director, ENS CHARMAINE REEZE L BERNARDO PCG.

The activity aims to promote camaraderie, community engagement and espirit de corps among CGHRMC Personnel. Visitors are invited to explore the different food stalls and enjoy the wide selection of food and refreshments available throughout the bazaar.
